Both the PS4 and Xbox One have done incredibly well in the UK, shifting a total of 894,000 units combined at the end of December 2013. However, the PS4 has a significant lead compared to the Xbox One, selling 166,000 more units in a slightly shorter time.

Game Install Times Much Faster on PS4
Both the PS4 and Xbox One require to install games on the consoles, but you’ll be surprised just how vast the difference in install times are between the two consoles. A video from Kotaku compares the PS4 and Xbox One in installing Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, of which the results are astonishing. The PS4 takes just 42 seconds to install, while the Xbox takes almost 6 minutes with no updated, and a massive 10 minutes with downloading patches.
NPD Figures for November 2013 Reveal PS4 as Top Selling Platform, Xbox One Fastest Selling
According to the latest NPD figures, the PS4 was the biggest selling console in the US last month, but the Xbox One was the faster selling one. We already know that the PS4 managed to sell over one million units in the first 24 hours, while the Xbox One managed to sell approximately 101k every day. It wasn’t revealed how many units the PS4 sold exactly in November, however.
Xbox One Sells a Million Units in 24 Hours
The Xbox One launched in 13 territories on Friday, November 22nd 2013, selling one million units in the first 24 hours, matching the first-day figures for the PS4. However, in comparison, the PS4 sold one million units in just two countries: USA and Canada, compares to Xbox One’s 13. The European launch on November 29th 2013 will further boost the PS4’s numbers.
PS4 Browser 5 Times Faster Than Xbox One’s Explorer
Website AnandTech has run two speed tests on the internet browsers on the Xbox One and PS4, revealing that the PS4’s browser is 2-5x faster than the Xbox One, at least in terms of JavaScript performance. Two tests were run on each browser, the first using the Sunspider benchmark suite which measures JavaScript performance, and the second using Kracken, a JavaScript performance benchmark created by Mozilla.

Microsoft’s Xbox One launches this Friday, November 22nd 2013, in North America and Europe, with the PS4 launching in Europe the following week, on November 29th 2013. German website PCGames.de has posted some photos comparing the size of the two consoles, showing just how different they are, but both sporting great designs.
Call Of Duty: Ghosts Resolution Confirmed at 1080p on PS4
Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin has confirmed, via the twitlonger service, that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be running at a higher resolution on PS4 than on the Xbox One. The PS4 version will run at 1080p resolution natively, while the Xbox One version will be upscaled to 1080p from a 720p resolution.
Videos Compare PS4 and Xbox One Versions Of Battlefield 4
A comparison video has been released by DigitalFoundry, comparing the PS4 and Xbox One version of upcoming title Battlefield 4. The video confirms that the PS4 version of he game runs at a resolution of 1600×900, while the Xbox One version is just 1280×720.
Developers Claim PS4 Is 50% More Powerful Than Xbox One
According to a series of tweets from Adrian Chmielarz, the former Creative Director of developer People Can Fly, the PS4 is a more powerful console than the Xbox One. Chmielarz goes on to clarify that the specs won’t make must of a difference, noting that the Xbox 360 is more powerful than the PS3 yet Naughty Dog have managed to make the best looking game this generation with The Last of Us.
Xbox One Release Date Revealed, Coming In Between PS4’s Release Dates
The official release date for Microsoft’s Xbox One was revealed today, through MajorNelson’s blog, revealing a release date right in between the PS4’s North American and European release dates. The Xbox One will be releasing worldwide on November 22nd, just after the PS4’s North American release on November 15th, and just before the PS4’s European release on November 29th.
