This week on the PlayStation Store, a number of new downloadable games are available to download, as well as new playable demos, including the Lost Planet 2 Multiplayer Demo. New DLC is also available for a number of titles, including the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Siege Expansion Pack and new tracks for Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Gamers in the UK can also download FirstPlay Episode 003.
The PlayStation 3 will be getting a new mandatory firmware update shortly, with many improvements to the trophy system. In addition, the update preps the PS3 system for some upcoming new features, including 3D stereoscopic gaming, which is coming soon to PS3, in time for the launch of Sony’s 3D BRAVIA TVs.
PlayStation Home gets its weekly update tomorrow, and this week’s highlight is the Ghost Pirate Ship from Monkey Island, Final Fantasy XIII costumes and updates to Sodium. In addition to the Ghost Pirate Ship personal space, you can also pick up new furniture and costumes related to the title.
Time for this week’s US PlayStation Video Store update. This week’s Deal of the Week (up to 50% off!) has a RACING theme, so check out Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Rick Bobby and Driven. New to the Store is Marvel’s Ironman Extremis and there is a free episode of the new CMT series, Danger Coast. Finally, the HD version of the full UFC 112 event is coming to PlayStation Store on Saturday.
On The PSP Store this week, you will find a number of games discounted the European Store and there are lots of new Minis titles available for both Europe and the US, including Monopoly. PSone classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is available to purchase in Europe and Mimana Iyar Chronicle is available to download from the US Store. Finally, there is a selection of videos and DLC content for various games. See below for the complete list.
This week on the PlayStation Store, FirstPlay Episode 002 is available to download in the UK and a number of new dynamic themes have hit the store. The GTA: Episode from Liberty City DLC is available to download from both the US and European Stores as are a number of new Minis titles. There is also new DLC for titles including Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Dead to Rights and Just Cause 2.
PlayStation Home is being updated today with lots of new content. The Ghostbusters Firehouse personal space, which we previously announced two weeks ago, will be releasing this week along with the Neptune Suite personal space. The Neptune Suite personal space is situated deep under water, and comes complete with the multiplayer Blast Zone mini-game, and the rather puzzling Scramble.
PlayTV hasn’t been updated in a while, but James Thorpe, PlayStation Network Product Manager, as given us a head-up that a major update will be coming by the end of the year. Testing of the new update has already begun but no details about what to expect were revealed except for one particular feature. Thorpe did tease that other “great enhancements to PlayTV and brand new features will also be included in the update.”
This week’s UK PlayStation Video Store update was slightly delayed for reasons unknown. The update is finally live and is the biggest update to the video store since it was first launched. A total of 26 new movies are available to rent and 39 new movies are available to own this week. Check out the complete list of new titles below.
This week’s PlayStation Store update for the US is now live. Highlights include the arrival of Up in the Air, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and the Universal Sweepstakes. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is now available to own in HD, and for a limited time when you purchase the trilogy in HD by 4/15 you’ll get the exclusive Lord of the Rings dynamic theme as a gift.
