Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed new IP The Last of Us has shot to the top of the UK chart, after being released just last Friday. The PlayStation exclusive has become the fastest selling new IP since LA Noire in 2011, and is this year’s third fastest selling game behind multi-format titles Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider, says MCV.

Beyond: Two Souls UK Release Date Confirmed
Following on from the North American release date, Beyond: Two Souls has now been given a firm release date for the UK. CVG reports that a Sony representative has confirmed that the game will be releasing in the UK on October 11th 2013. However, a firm European release date wasn’t mentioned – only the UK date.
PS4 Advert Confirms UK Launch in 2013
A full page advert in today’s Metro newspaper has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will be releasing in the UK in 2013. The advert, promoting PlayStation as an official sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, can be found in the sports section of the newspaper.

This week’s UK Games chart is pretty much the same as it’s been this year, mainly due to a lack of new releases. Newcomer DmC has dropped to fourth place after just one week on top of the chart, and Call of Duty: Black Ops II reclaims the top spot followed by FIFA 13 in second place.

Newcomer DmC: Devil May Cry has entered the UK Games chart in top position this week pushing down FIFA 13 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II to second and third place, respectively. It’s actually Capcom’s first game to go straight to number one since Resident Evil 5. The rest of the chart is pretty static, with Far Cry 3, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Assassin’s Creed III still in the Top 10.
