Fans of Drake, Sully, Elena, and Chloe will be disappointed to hear that the Uncharted series may be over, now that Naughty Dog has moved on to The Last of Us. A video from Naughty Dog’s Judd Simantov shows the techniques he used in modeling and rigging the game’s primary characters, but also mentions that the Uncharted is over. At the 14:20 into the video, Simantov says “Now that the Uncharted series is over, we had the opportunity to re-evaluate certain things.”
If you’re looking to purchase the digital version of The Last Of Us, you’ll be happy to know that the game will be playable as it downloads. The PS4 will have this feature build-in for every game downloaded from the PlayStation Store, but Naughty Dog has taken the leap and have included the feature in their latest game. Speaking to Game Informer, Naughty Dog said that you’ll be able to start playing it when the game gets to about 50% downloaded.
The Last of Us releases on the PS3 in just a few weeks time, but if you’re having trouble choosing between the two Special Edition versions of the game, help is at hand. Naughty Dog’s upcoming title, The Last of Us, will have a single-player campaign that is expected to last 12-16 hours long. Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer confirmed the length of the story while speaking to EvolveEnt in a recent interview. However, the game is strictly linear, but if the player chooses to act stealthily or take their time to explore environments, the game will easily last 16 hours.
The free demo of The Last of Us, included with copies of God of War: Ascension won’t be available until the end of May, Naughty Dog has confirmed via Twitter. This means the demo will be available just two weeks before the full game is released.
Sony and Naughty Dog has officially delayed The Last of Us, expected to release in May 2013. The game is being delayed so the developers can have some extra time to perfect and deliver a high quality game, as we would expect from Naughty Dog. The game’s new launch date is now just over a month later in June 2013.

Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will be releasing two Special Edition packages in May titled The Last of Us: Ellie Edition (available exclusively at GAME) and The Last of Us: Joel Edition (available exclusively at Tesco & independent retailers).
As promised last week in a short teaser trailer, Naughty Dog has released a new trailer for The Last of Us, alongside revealing the official release date for the game, pre-order content and the official boxart. The full trailer can be viewed below, while the game is scheduled for release on May 7th 2012.
