Rocket League is getting a new update tomorrow, 18th August 2021, adding content from Insomniac Ratchet & Clank series. Gamers will be able to pick up a Ratchet & Clank bundle just by logging in, which includes a Decal, Negatron Collider Boost, and two Balloon Toppers. The game also improves PS5 compatibility with support for 120hz TVs.

Sony and Psyonix have today confirmed Rocket League on PS4 is now fully cross-platform, as the game is now part of the PlayStation Cross-Play Beta Program. To enable cross-platform play, you’ll need to go to Options > Gameplay, and check the cross-platform play option.
This means that for the first time ever, PS4 owners can play the game together with PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch players.
The game doesn’t yet allow PS4 owners to create cross-platform parties yet but an update will be released to allow that eventually. However, you can create private matches with people on other platforms.
Rocket League Gets PS4 Pro Support Next Week
Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will be getting a patch next week, which adds PS4 Pro support to the game. The patch will allow the game to run at 1080p with 60fps on a standard PS4, and in 4K at 60fps on the PS4 Pro.
Rocket League Update v1.19 Detailed
Psyonix has detailed the changes that will be part of the v1.19 update for Rocket League. The update will include the Neo Tokyo and Pillars arenas, along with new vehicles, decals, antennas and other content. This update also fixes improvements, bug fixes and changes as detailed below.
Sony Expects to Sell 20 Million PS4 This Fiscal Year
Sony have shared their forecast for this fiscal year’s expected PS4 sales, which ends on 31st March 2017. In the forecast, Sony is hoping to sell 20 million units, which is an increase of 8.3% on last years figures. In comparison, Sony sold 17.7 million PS4s during fiscal year 2015, exceeding it’s 17.5 million forecast for that year.
Rocket League Basketball Mode Coming in April
Psyonix has announced via twitter that a new mode is coming to Rocket League in April. The new mode, called Dunk House, will add a basketball-style arena, requiring payers to score goals – or points – via an aerial hoop. The mode will be free to download.
Rocket League Has Made $50m, with 8 Million Registered Players
According to the Wall Street Journal, Psyonix’s sequel to PS3 title Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, Rocket League, has made $50 million since release (around £33.5m / €45.7m). The game was available as a free download to PlayStation Plus subscribers back in July 2015, and had several paid downloadable content available too.
