While PlayStation Now will allow PS3 games to be played on the PS4, PS Vita and other devices, an inside source reveals that PS1 and PS2 games will be playable on the PS4 via emulation. Eurogamer’s source also reveals that the PS4 will be able to upscale these games to HD resolution.

New Titles Added to Retro Games Sale in Europe
New titles will be added to the Retro Games Sale in Europe in tomorrow’s PlayStation Store update. The discounts start from September 12th 2012 until September 19th so be sure to make the most of the offers before it’s too late. All of the PSOne classics listed below work on the PS Vita except for Resident Evil 2, which Sony is currently looking into.
New Titles Added to Summer Sale
Week Two of Europe’s Summer Sale begins tomorrow, and Sony is planning to add a number of new titles to the sale. Starting tomorrow, Sony adds a number of new PS3, PSOne, and PS Vita titles to the list.
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee No Longer a HD Remake
According to a Facebook post, the Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD remake has been scrapped in favour of a complete reboot of the game. The post reads, “OK, so here’s the skinny on Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. We decided to reboot it, not just an HD update to the original PS1 title, this is a NEW game.”
SCEE Confirm Starhawk is Blu-ray Only, But Includes Bonus
SCEE have just confirmed that Lightbox Interactive’s Starhawk is a Blu-ray only title. The game is already available in North America and parts of Europe, and will be available in the UK on Friday. In addition, SCEE has confirmed that Starhawk will some with the original PSOne Warhawk title as a PSN download.
Sony Launches PlayStation Network Import Section in Europe
Gamers who have missed out on PSOne games from Japan will be happy to hear that Sony is launching the PlayStation Network Import Section on the PlayStation Store. MonkeyPaw Games has released the first three games for this new section, that never made it to European shores, all imported in their original Japanese form.
NTSC-J And NTSC-U PSone Classics Confirmed For SCEE
Sony Europe are preparing to release PSOne titles from US and Japan. Although they cannot confirm dates, a few are expected to be published to the PlayStation Store soon. It means that publishers that already have titles in the US and Japanese stores can apply to get their games added to the European PlayStation Stores too.
New PSOne Classics Spotted on ESRB
If you though the PSOne Classic section on the PlayStation Store was a little small, you will be happy to know that three more titles are on the way very soon. The game listings on the ESRB reveal three previously unannounced PSOne classics coming to the PS3 and PSP.
Final Fantasy IX Hits US PlayStation Store Next Week
Final Fantasy IX is already available to download in Europe and Japan for a few weeks now, and is finally heading to the US PlayStation Store. Sony has announced that the PSOne classic will be available to purchase from June 15th 2010, for $9.99. Final Fantasy IX is playable on the PSP and PS3, but be sure to have at least 2GB of free space available.
Final Fantasy IX Now Available In Japan
Final Fantasy IX is now available on the Japanese PlayStation Store as a PSOne classic title, compatible with both the PS3 and PSP. The title costs ¥1,500 (approx $16 / £12) to purchase, and need 1.5GB of space on your hard drive or memory stick. The US version of the game will be available “soon”.
