Sony Confirms PSN was not Breached Last Week

Last week we reported that Hacker Group DerpTrolling leaked thousands of PSN account details on the Internet, claiming that they hacked the PlayStation Network and other services. However, Sony ash now released a statement to Joystiq that no breach was detected, and account details are safe.
PSN Login Details Leaked By Hacker Group DerpTrolling

DerpTrolling has released a log of customer logins across the PlayStation Network and other services, revealing 2,131 PSN details. The group also claims that they have around 7 million usernames and passwords in total, including credit card details of some of the hacked services.
PSN Maintenance On Monday, November 17th 2014

Sony has planned PlayStation Network maintenance for Monday, 17th November 2014, starting at 6:00 PM. The maintenance will last for approximately 6 hours, finishing at midnight, and coincidently at the same time as GTA V’s midnight launch.
Top PSN Sellers for October 2014 in North America

SCEA have released the PlayStation Store charts for October, revealing the top selling PlayStation Games. On the PS4, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was the top selling PS4 title, with NBA 2K15 in second. On the PS3, Minecraft continues to be the top selling title.
PlayStation Network Maintenance Scheduled for Monday October 13th 2014

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network will be undergoing maintenance on Monday, October 13th 2014, until the early hours of Tuesday. The maintenance window will disrupt your evening gaming session, as the maintenance starts from 6pm BST, and will last until 1am. Sony hasn’t given any indication on what the maintenance will involve, but PSN access will be unavailable.
PSN Maintenance Rescheduled for Today

The PlayStation Network maintenance that was schedules to take place on Monday has been rescheduled for later today, Sony has announced. The maintenance will start from 16:00 BST today, and last until 05:00 BST tomorrow morning, effectively ruining your evening gaming session. It also appears that the original maintenance period has been extended, most likely as a result the DDoS attack on Sunday.

This week, the PSN Summer Sale in Europe is offering some great PS4 games for discounted prices including Watch_Dogs and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Both games offer large discounts, with the former giving you £20 off the RRP, with an additional 10% off for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
PlayStation Network Back Online, Maintenance Period Cancelled

After yesterday’s PlayStation Network downtime, network access has been restored and the PSN is back online. The reason for the downtime was because of a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS), which saw artificial traffic slow down and even crash the PlayStation Network servers. Sony says there is no evidence of any intrusion to the network and no evidence of any unauthorised access to users’ personal information.

Sony has announced scheduled maintenance for the PlayStation Network for Monday, 25th August 2014. If you’re based in the UK, the maintenance is sure to put a dampener on your Bank Holiday gaming, which is scheduled to take place between 17:40 BST and 00:50 BST on Tuesday, 26th August 2014. If you want to play online during the maintenance period, make sure you sign-in before the start of the window.
