The release of the Playstation 4 is getting closer every day now, and for gaming enthusiasts the big day just can’t come soon enough. We’ve heard by now about all of the specs and capabilities of this rather incredible sounding new console, and for Playstation fans these capabilities are reason enough to be excited. PS4 Party Chat is Compatible with the PS Vita
The PS4’s Party Chat feature will be compatible with the Party Chat functionality that’s already on the PS Vita, according to Sony’s President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida. The cross-platform feature was confirmed via twitter in response to a question by @rossthebassist.
PS3 Games Need to be Verified Before You Get PS4 Upgrade Price
Sony has previously confirmed that PS3 gamers will be able to upgrade to PS4 versions of certain games if they’re upgrading to the upcoming console. In an interview with Digital Spy, Sony’s UK MD Fergal Gara confirmed that gamers will have to verify they still own the PS3 version of the game before getting discount on the digital version of the PS4 game.
Gamescom 2013: DRIVECLUB Trailer
Evolution Studios have released a new gamescom trailer for PS4 launch title DRIVECLUB, showing how players can earn fame points for themselves and their Clubmates. The trailer details the number of ways you can earn points, including speeding through a section of track, drifting or perfecting cornering.
Gamescom 2013: Knack Trailer
Sony has released the new gamescom trailer for PS4 launch title Knack, featuring some new characters and details about the game’s story. A demo of the game is available at Gamescom too – the first time it’s been playable at a consumer show. Japan Studio, the developers behind the game, has also revealed that they’re working on a two player “drop in” co-op mode.
PS4’s PAL Launch Territories Confirmed
Sony has confirmed which lucky PAL territories will be getting the PlayStation 4 on the November 29th launch date – a total of 20 countries. Microsoft recently announced that the Xbox One would be delayed in some of the European countries it was expected to launch in, but will still be getting a PS4 at launch, giving Sony an advantage in these regions.
PS4 Launch Line-up Detailed
When Sony said that the PS4 launch line-up was the largest for any previous console, they weren’t kidding. The console will be launching in North America and Europe this November, with 33 games available within the first month. The available games will be a mix of Blu-ray retail versions and digital editions, with the Blu-ray version expected to cost around £55.
PS3 Gamers Upgrading to PS4 will get “Significant” Discounts on PS4 Version of Games
In Sony’s Gamescon Press Conference, the company revealed that PS3 gamers upgrading to the PS4 will get up to 75% off selected games they’ve already purchased on the PS3. The initial list of titles include Call Of Duty Ghosts, Watch_Dogs, Assassins Creed IV, and Battlefield 4, but Sony is expecting more publishers to join the program soon.
DualShock 4 Will Be Available in Two Additional Colours
Sony has confirmed that the DualShock 4 controller will be available in two other colours, in addition to the standard black one that comes bundled with the console. The company announced “Magma Red” and “Wave Blue” DualShock 4 controllers will be available for purchase too.
Gamescom 2013: Minecraft Coming to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita
At their Gamescom press conference, Sony revealed that Xbox 360 and PC title, Minecraft, will be coming to the PS4. Later it was confirmed that the title would also be coming to the PS3 and PS Vita. The news was confirmed by Adam Boyes, who is part of Sony’s Publisher & Developer Relations team , via Twitter.
