Sony have announced a wireless virtual reality headset at the IFA consumer electronic show in Berlin, which features a 3D-ready display, 7.1 virtual surround sound and two tiny OLED displays. The headset is due out in November and will work with PCs, mobiles and consoles, including the PS4.

Xbox One Release Date Revealed, Coming In Between PS4’s Release Dates
The official release date for Microsoft’s Xbox One was revealed today, through MajorNelson’s blog, revealing a release date right in between the PS4’s North American and European release dates. The Xbox One will be releasing worldwide on November 22nd, just after the PS4’s North American release on November 15th, and just before the PS4’s European release on November 29th.
Sony Details Tokyo Game Show Line-Up
Sony has confirmed it’s Tokyo Game Show line-up with the event being just over two weeks away. Sony will be featuring a number of games for the PS4, PS3 and the PS Vita, and may reveal a release date for the PS4 in Asian territories at their TGS Press Conference. PS4 titles include Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, DRIVECLUB, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack and more.
PlayStation Plus for PlayStation 4 Detailed in New Trailer
A new trailer for PlayStation Plus details the benefits of the service on the PlayStation 4, including access to online multiplayer, top rated games for free and one annual fee for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. DRIVECLUB will be the first PlayStation Plus game for the PS4, available when the console launches in November.
PS4 Won’t Allow Games to be Installed on External Hard Drives
Just like the PS3, the PS4 won’t let gamers install games on external hard drives. Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, confirmed the restriction via twitter, but you will be able to upgrade the internal hard drive if you ever run out of space. The launch PS4 will come with a 500GB hard drive, but this is likely to be used quickly, with some digitally downloaded games requiring over 30GB of space.
Sony Details Gaikai Launch Plans, No European Release Date Yet
Gaikai streaming wasn’t mentioned in Sony’s Gamescom Press Conference last month, but Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s CEO Jim Ryan has detailed out the launch plans for the service. As mentioned at E3, Gaikai will first launch in North America in 2014 for the PS4, before heading to the PS Vita and then the PS3.
Warframe will be Limited-Time PS4 Exclusive
Warframe was originally though to be a PS4 exclusive title, but it looks like the developers, Digital Extreme, have back-tracked and hinted at a Xbox One version of the game and possibly other platforms too. The company have announced that the free-to-play title will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 when the system launches in November – but only for three months.
Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4 Bundle Leaks Out
A PS4 bundle with Killzone: Shadow Fall has leaked out via the Amazon France website, which lists the bundle costing €499.99 – around £430. Though the price is higher than the standalone console (which has a RRP of €399.99 / £349), it does come with the Blu-ray version of Killzone: Shadow Fall, an extra DualShock 4 controller and the PlayStation Camera.
PS4 Camera to Support Voice Commands
According to Amazon’s product details for the PlayStation 4’s Camera, the peripheral will support Kinect-like voice commands to navigate the console’s menu system. The product details on the US Amazon site reads: “From navigational voice commands to facial recognition, the PlayStation Camera adds incredible innovation to your gaming.”
PS4 Will Automatically Wake Up for Remote Downloads
Sony’s President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has confirmed via twitter that purchasing a game remotely for the PS4 will automatically wake up the console to download the game, and then turn off when completed. Currently, the PS3 needs to be scheduled to wake up at a certain time in order to automatically download queued content.
