European PlayStation Plus Line-up for August 2014 Revealed
SCEE has revealed the six new games coming to the Instant Game Collection next month, which includes FEX, Crysis 3 and LEGO Harry Potter. The new games will be available from next week, August 6th 2014, which also means that July’s games will be removed. Be sure to download July’s games if you haven’t done so already.
inFamous: First Light will be Available on Blu-ray in Europe
Sony has announced that the inFamous: First Light DLC will be getting a disc release in Europe on September 10th. The DLC is not part of inFamous: Second Son, and can be played without owning the full game. First Light tells the story of Fetch and the events of her life leading up to Second Son, exploring her time in Curdun Cay and various other new environments.
LittleBigPlanet 3 Pre-Order Incentives & Release Date Revealed
Media Molecule has unveiled the pre-order incentives for LittleBigPlanet 3 in North America, while also revealing that the game will be releasing on both the PS4 and PS3 on November 18th 2014. There are a number of pre-order bonuses to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. These pre-order offers are for North America only, with Europe’s bonuses to be announced soon.
US PlayStation Store Update for July 29th 2014
Lots of new content is available on the US PlayStation Store this week, which also happens to be the last update for July. New games includes The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4), Pure Pool (PS4), Rogue Legacy (PS3, PS Vita), Ratchet & Clank Collection (PS Vita), and more. You can also find new pre-orders and DLC for all three PlayStation platforms.
PS4 System Software Ver. 1.75
PS4 Firmware v1.75 is now available to download for, adding 3D Blu-ray support to the console among a few other changes. The new update was released over night, weighing in at 194 MB. In addition to 3D support, the firmware also moves all notifications on the top-right of the screen (like DualShock 4 notifications, System Messages) to the top-left, in line with all the other notifications.
LittleBigPlanet 3 Private Beta Invites Going Out Over Next Few Weeks
A forum post on LittleBigPlanet Central has revealed that the LittleBigPlanet 3 private beta will be starting next month, with invites going out over the next couple of weeks. MediaMolecule have hand-picked a small number of gamers from the LBP community to take part in the beta, and will be receiving messages to their LBP Central inbox.
Destiny Beta Now Open to All
Although the Destiny beta was previously advertised as a pre-order incentive, Bungie has decided to open up the beta to all gamers with compatible consoles. The open beta is available to anyone with a PS4, PS3, Xbox One or Xbox 360, and will be available until the end of July 26th 2014. You have just over a day to download and play the game if you haven’t already.
Pure Pool Cued for PS4 Launch Next Week
Indie developers VooFoo Studios and Publisher Ripstone announced today that Pure Pool will be releasing on the PS4 next week. The game will be heading to Europe on 29th July, followed by North America on on 30th July. The developers have taken hyper-realism to a whole new level with Pure Pool, with beautiful high definition graphics and silky-smooth gameplay.
PS4 Finally Getting 3D Blu-Ray Support with Firmware v1.75
Sony has announced that an upcoming Firmware update will finally allow users to watch their 3D Blu-Ray films on the PS4. The feature should really have been part of the PS4 at launch, but will now be included with PS4 Firmware Update 1.75. The announcement from Sony follows a similar one from Microsoft, which revealed 3D Blu-ray support for the Xbox One next month.
