Evolution Studios has released patch v1.03 for DriveClub after spending last week running diagnostics to help with the server issues. The patch updated the game to reduce server load, as well addressing a number of bugs that was causing the game to crash. The servers are still not 100% and the PlayStation Plus edition of the game is still delayed, but hopefully this patch will help in getting there.
