PlayStation 3 Gets Small Price Cut
The PlayStation 3 has received a price cut, but not as big as the one people were hoping for. Play.com and Amazon.co.uk have lowered the price of their PS3 bundles by a £10. The price cuts were available as of yesterday (18th May). Play has a PS3 with DualShock 3 controller, 80 GB HDD and a copy of Killzone 2 for £289.99, down from £299.99. Amazon on the other hand have the same deal but you get to chose from a range of 11 titles including Killzone 2, Resistance 2, UFC 2009: Undisputed, Damnation, The Godfather 2 and Hannah Montana: The Movie Game. Or you can substitute a game for a HDMI cable. Its only a small price cut, but a price cut nonetheless.
PlayStation 3 Slim Photos Leaked?
Rumors have been circling around the Internet this week about a possible Slim PlayStation 3 model, which is supposed to be announced at E3 next month. Sony has commented on the issue, stating that it “currently has no plans” for a redesign. Despite this, some photos have appeared today showing what could be the redesigned PS3 (see below). The pictures have been said to come directly from the manufacturing plant in China.
Limited Edition Final Fantasy VII PlayStation 3 coming in April
If you are a fan of the PlayStation title Final Fantasy VII, you may be happy to know that a limited edition PlayStation 3 will be hitting Japan in April. The Final Fantasy VII model, dubbed ‘Cloud Black’, will retail for ¥49,980 (approx $550) and will come with a 160GB hard drive, Final Fantasy XIII demo and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. Currently, there are no plans for an oversea release so the US and Europe will need to wait. Square-Enix revealed the first image of the PS3 model, which we have included below.
LittleBigPlanet Servers down for maintenance
The LittleBigPlanet servers are down today between the hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM GMT (12:00AM to 9:00AM PST). During the downtime, the online areas of LittleBigPlanet will be unavailable – this includes playing community levels, your LittleBigPlanet profile and the ability to publish new levels.

The European PlayStation Store has been updated and Europe and now download the Metal Gear Online Beta, which was released in the US a day early. Unlike the US, anyone can access the online beta. US games will have to preorder Metal Gear Solid 4 in order to receive a beta key to gain access to the game. Konami require you to register for a Konami ID in order to play the beta. The download weighs in at 741MB.

According to forum member shadowman540 over at the US PlayStation Forums, a recent advert advertises Home and Pain on the PlayStation Store. Since both the icons are present under the “Featured” section and are the first two icons in the Store, we can only speculate that both games are part of the same PlayStation Store update.
