Rockstar has revealed that GTA Online will be online from early this morning for an unspecified amount of time. The maintenance period starts at 2 AM GMT (9 PM Eastern Tine) and will finish at some point on Thursday, but an exact time wasn’t revealed. The nature of the maintenance period wasn’t disclosed, but could relate to new features or improved reliability.

US PlayStation Store Update for January 14th 2014
New content is available on the US PlayStation Store this week, with Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation HD now available to download on the PS3 as well as the Guacamelee! Bundle Fantastico. BioShock Infinite has also been added to the Instant Game Collection.
Guacamelee! Bundle Fantastico Releasing Next Week
If you haven’t already picked up Guacamelee! on the PS3 or PS Vita, you’ll be happy to know that Drinkbox Studios will be releasing a new bundle to the PlayStation Store next week: Guacamelee! Bundle Fantastico. The bundle will include a number of extras including DLC content, the soundtrack, avatars and XMB themes.
US PlayStation Store Gets Incredible Discounts in 14 for ’14 Sale
SCEA is hosting a 14 for ’14 sale on the PlayStation Store, staring tomorrow, offering gamers massive discounts on 14 PS3 and 14 PS Vita games to celebrate the New Year. The 28 games will be discounted by up to 50% off, and up to 75% off if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber. You can pickup games like Killzone Mercenary (PS Vita) for $9, or Puppeteer (PS3) for just $7.
EU PlayStation Store Update for January 8th 2014
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store today, with a number of new games for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. On the PS4, Don’t Starve: Console Edition is now available and free to download if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber. Six new games are available on the PS3 and three new titles on the PS Vita.
CES 2014: PlayStation Now Hands On
Following Sony’s announcement of PlayStation Now yesterday at CES 2014, a number of hands-on videos have appeared on YouTube showing the service in action. Leveraging Gaikai’s advanced cloud streaming features, the hands-on video below shows Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us (PS3) running on a PS Vita, and God of War: Ascension (PS3) bring streamed to a PS3.

New content is now available on the North American PlayStation Store, including Don’t Starve (PS4), Tiny Brains (PS3, cross-buy), and Furmins + Bonus World (PS Vita). Don’t Starve has also been added to the Instant Game Collection if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, along with DmC (PS3).
PS4 Detects PS3 Discs, But Not PS2 or PSOne
I find it strange that Sony has gone through the trouble of letting the PS4 detect PS3 discs inserted into the system, instead of just showing a generic “Unsupported disc” error message. I did a small experiment to see how the PS4 would handle PS3, PS2 and PSOne discs and what I found was a little surprising, as the video below shows.

The US PlayStation Store has received a moderately small update this week, with just a handful of new games and DLC content. Zen Pinball 2 is now available to download for the PS4 and Sonic All-stars Racing Transformed has been added to the Instant Game Collection. You can also find new DLC for games including GTA V (PS3), The Playroom (PS4) and The Walking Dead Season Two.

Lots of new content has been added to the PlayStation Store in Europe this week, with three new PS4 games, 12 new PS3 games and nine new PS Vita games. New games include Backgammon Blitz (PS4, PS Vita), Minecraft (PS3) and the first episode of Broken Sword – The Serpent’S Curse (PS Vita).
