Sony has announced that Jak and Daxter are making a return to PlayStation this year, in the form of PS2 Classics for the PS4. Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3 will be available on PS4 via download on PlayStation Store, making use pf PS2 emulation to upscale the games to HD, and adding trophy support.

PS1 and PS2 Games May Come to PS4 Via Emulation
While PlayStation Now will allow PS3 games to be played on the PS4, PS Vita and other devices, an inside source reveals that PS1 and PS2 games will be playable on the PS4 via emulation. Eurogamer’s source also reveals that the PS4 will be able to upscale these games to HD resolution.
PS2 Sale Starts Today in Europe
Sony’s #PlayStationMemories campaign in Europe continues today with a massive sale on PS2 titles. The console, which was released back in late 2000, has sold over 150 million units worldwide, and saw great games like Final Fantasy X, Tekken 5, GTA III, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and many more great titles – some of which are now on sale.
PS3 Sees Regular Stream of PS2 Titles Incoming in Japan
Sony has announced, in Japan at least, that PS2 titles will be coming in a steady stream as downloadable titles on the PlayStation Store. The service, knows as “Game Archive”, will see new titles being added to the Store at regular intervals, with the first update planned for July 25th.

SCEE Confirms PS2 Classics Coming to European PS3
Earlier today, TheSixthAxis spoke to SCEE, who confirmed that Classic PS2 titles will be coming to the PlayStation 3. SCEE doesn’t know if “Classic PS2” will be the official term coined for the collection, but if it is, then it simple like its PSOne counter-part.
