PlayStation Camera Sales up 975% Since PlayStation VR Announcement
Sales of the PlayStation Camera have skyrocketed following the PlayStation VR announcement earlier this week. The camera is required for the VR headset to function, but won’t be included with the device. VideoGamer.com reports that sales for the camera has increased by a massive 975% following the announcement.

PS4 Camera Microphone is Always On
If you’re planning to buy (or already have a PS4 Camera), you should be aware that the microphone on the device is always-on, and auto-broadcasts voice if you are in a party chat. There is no option to stop your voice being broadcasted, and you must physically disconnect the camera to stop the microphone, or use a headset and mute it.

Sony has confirmed that the PS4 will feature Kinect-like features with the use of the camera, including voice commands to navigate through the operating system and facial recognition. The features were previously leaked in the PS4 listing on Amazon, but confirmed at Sony’s TGS Conference last week.

Though the price is higher than the standalone console (which has a RRP of €399.99 / £349), it does come with the Blu-ray version of Killzone: Shadow Fall, an extra DualShock 4 controller and the PlayStation Camera.
