Sony is continuing it’s road to financial recovery, having recently reported an increase in profit for Q1 2015. Sony has report $780 million operating profit, up 39% compared to last year, and mostly thanks to the success of the PS4. Sony’s games devision was obviously the most profitable part of the company, reporting 350% increase in profits to $147 million.
Following Sony’s financial report showing 22.3 million PS4 sold worldwide, it has also emerged that Sony has sold 2 million consoles since launch. It took just 19 months for the console to reach 2 million units, reaching the milestone quicker than the PS2.
Sony’s latest financial reports reveals that over 22.3 million PS4 consoles have been sold since launch. Since the last quarterly report, it means Sony has sold over 3.8 million units. However, the report also shows that sales of Sony’s portable consoles has declined.
Earlier today at the Game Developers Conference, Sony made a number of big announcements regarding the PS4 and Project Morpheus. First off, the latest PS4 sales figures now stand at 20.2 million units sold worldwide, making it the fastest selling console in PlayStation history.
