The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be available to purchase on the PS3 this July in North America, containing every Metal Gear game to grace the PlayStation platforms. The collection includes every title from 1998′s Metal Gear Solid on the PSOne to 2008′s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to 2011′s Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, all for $49.99.

Konami Announces Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection
Konami has announced a new collection for Metal Gear Solid, called the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection. The collection will include Metal Gear Solid, MGS2 HD, MGS3 HD, Peace Walker HD, VR Missions, MGS4, and two digital graphic novels by Ashley Wood. However, the collection has only been confirmed for North and South America, with no mention of a European version. The collection will be available exclusively on the PS3.
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Coming to PS3
At PAX 2012, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima showed off 11 minutes of gameplay footage from his upcoming PS3 game Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. “We’re not going to say that it’s Metal Gear Solid 5,” Kojima said after the demo, “but it is a prologue.” Kojima explained that the demo video was a recording of gameplay rendered on PC hardware that was similarly equipped to a PS3, and that the final game should closely resemble the video.
Metal Gear Solid Movie Announced
Earlier in the week at the MGS 25th anniversary event, Hideo Kojima and Avi Arad revealed that a Metal Gear Solid movie is in the works, and will be produced by Columbia Pictures. The Metal Gear games have long been acclaimed for their cinematic qualities, and the movie will be true to the franchise, according to Arad.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is finally getting trophies and we have the trophy list for you to take a look at. When the game first came out in 2008, the trophy system was only just introduced on the PS3. MGS4 just came out of development and so trophies weren’t implemented in time for launch.
Metal Gear Solid 4 Getting New Retail Version
In addition to the recently announced trophy patch for Metal Gear Solid 4, Konami has also confirmed that there will be a new retail version of the game, known as “The Best” edition, available at a lower price and allowing gamers to install all the game data needed for the game from the start.
Metal Gear Solid 4 Finally Gets Trophies via Free DLC
Konami has confirmed in a press release that METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots will be getting new DLC to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary. The patch will finally add trophies to the game – 34 trophies in total. The trophy list has yet to be revealed, along with details on if the trophies will unlock retroactively.
Metal Gear Solid 5 Confirmed by Kojima
Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5 is in the works and that it will be built using the Fox Engine. The developer told French magazine IG that the game is in development and will see the return of Solid Snake. At E3 2012, Kojima confirmed that the Fox engine runs on the PS3, Xbox 360 and current PCs.
