After six years of operation, Guerrilla Games has announced that the multiplayer servers for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 will be shutting down in March 2018. The single player content for both the games will be unaffected, but it does mean any online trophies for the game subsequently become unattainable.

Killzone 2 Will Support 3D
In the April Episode of Qore, Veronica Belmont revealed that Killzone 2 will be getting 3D support when the technology launches in Summer 2010. A number of other PlayStation 3 titles has already been confirmed to support 3D technology, including WipEout HD, Gran Turismo 5 and SuperStardust HD.
Killzone 2 Soundtrack Released On iTunes
Can’t get enough of Killzone 2 on your PS3? Now you can download the entire sountrack to take with you on your iPod (or other MP3 compatible device). The full album contains 29 tracks, with a total playing time of 74 minutes. Performed by the Nimrod Session Orchestra and recorded at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios in London, England, these thunderous tracks are guaranteed to give even the toughest Helghast trooper goose bumps. Killzone 2 Patch v1.29 Incoming
Guerilla Games have confirmed today that they will release patch v1.29 on July 23 at 9:00 AM GMT to fix certain issues caused by the previous patch (v1.28). Gamers have reported “crashes, graphical glitches and general progression issues” after installing patch v1.28. The new patch will fix all these issues.
Killzone 2 Trophies
Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is bringing the fight to the enemy’s home world of Helghan. Taking the role of Sev, the battle-hardened veteran of the special forces unit known as the Legion, players will embark upon a mission to the planet Helghan to capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the enemy’s war machine to a halt. Killzone 2 has a total of 76 trophies including those in the three map packs.

PlayStation Store Update for May 21st 2009
This week on the PlayStation Store, there are lots of new playable demos and a whole bunch of new game add-on content available for download. The inFamous demo can is available from both stores and the Killzone 2 4D interactive demo is finally available on the European store. There is new game add-on content for MotorStorm, FEAR 2, LittleBigPlanet, Rock Band, Guitar Hero and more. Check out the complete list below.
Killzone 2 “Flash and Thunder” Pack Arriving on June 11
The second downloadable pack for Killzone 2 will be hitting the PlayStation Store on June 11th 2009. The new pack, Flash and Thunder, will arrive after E3 and will feature two new maps: Beach Head and Southern Hills. The maps are from the original Killzone for PlayStation 2 but have been completely remade for PS3. The new downloadable pack will be available for purchase for $5.99. In addition, a new Killzone 2 patch will be arriving next week.
