Sony has revealed an updated Gold Wireless Headset for the PS4, which aims to deliver enhanced comfort and noise-cancelling microphones. The updated headset will include 7.1 virtual surround sound, feature two microphones with noise-cancelling technology, and will work with the PlayStation VR and mobile devices, using the included 3.5mm audio cable.

PlayStation Platinum Wireless Headset Releasing in mid-January 2017
Sony’s new Platinum Wireless Headset for the PS4 will be releasing in January 2017, retailing for £129.99. The headset includes enhanced highly positional 7.1 virtual surround-sound powered by PlayStation’s proprietary 3D audio technology, and premium design compared to the previous Gold PS4 Headset.
Sony Releasing Official In-Ear Stereo Headset for PS4 in December 2015
Sony has announced an official in-ear stereo headset for the PS4, releasing this December. Priced as £77.99/€89.99, the headset will feature AudioShield technology to block out external sounds, and will have up to 15 hours of battery life. The headset will connect straight into the DualShock 4, but can also be used on the PS Vita and other devices with a 3.5mm headphone port.

Sony’s VR headset, currently dubbed Project Morpheus, is currently in the prototyping stages but the technical details of the device are impressive. The technical specification of the developer version of the headset has been revealed following the announcement at GDC.

At GDC 2014, Sony announced Project Morpheus, a prototype virtual reality (VR) system that works with PS4, and the next innovation that will change the future of games. The VR device is still a prototype at this point, but the current model of Project Morpheus features a head-mounted display with 1080p resolution and new 3D audio technology that re-creates stereoscopic sounds in all directions and changes in real-time depending on your head orientation.
PlayStation Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 Available in Europe on Friday
The PlayStation Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 was expected to release in Europe around two weeks ago, but branded as the “Gold Wireless Stereo Headset”. Sony has tweeted that the headset will now be available to purchase on February 28th (this Friday) and that you can pre-order the headset from Amazon.co.uk.

Sony has announced a new wireless headset for the PS4, called “Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0”, along with support for the two previous wireless headsets on the PS3. PS4 Firmware v1.60, releasing tomorrow, will adds support for the official PlayStation headsets, while the new 2.0 version will be available from February 10th 2014.
Sony Working on VR Headset That Will Work with PS4
Sony have announced a wireless virtual reality headset at the IFA consumer electronic show in Berlin, which features a 3D-ready display, 7.1 virtual surround sound and two tiny OLED displays. The headset is due out in November and will work with PCs, mobiles and consoles, including the PS4.
PS3 Wireless Headsets will be Compatible with PS4
A Sony official at San Diego Comic-Con has told Polygon that the PS4 will support older PS3 headsets, even though the console will come bundled with it’s own mono headset. PS3 headsets like the official PS3 Wireless Headset and the Pulse Headset will work with the new console as an alternative. It’s expected that other third-party headsets will also work with the PS4.
GTA V PS3 Bundle and Custom Headset Revealed
Arriving in September is then highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PS3, and Sony has revealed a brand new PS3 bundle and custom Pulse wireless headset to go along with it. The PS3 bundle will include a 500 GB PS3 and a Blu-ray copy of GTAV, and will be available to purchase from September 17th 2013, when the game releases.
