Sony has released a new minor firmware update for the PS4 today, updating the system software to version 4.05. The changelog for this update states that this update “improves the quality of the system performance”. The update weighs in at 297 MB, and is available now for your console.

PS4 System Software Ver. 4.01
Sony has just released a new minor firmware update for the PS4, improving the system’s stability. The update is 297 MB in size, but only offers stability improvements. The PS4’s major v4.0o update was released last month, which made a number of changes to the system – this update presumably fixes some bugs in that update.
PS4 System Software Ver. 4.00
The next major firmware update for the PS4 is now available to download, bringing with it many new features as well as a new User Interface for various screens on the system. Sony has added a customisable and larger Quick Menu, which you can access using the PS button; added offline trophy browsing along with the ability to see the details of hidden trophies; and lots more. This update also adds HDR support to the console, giving you more vivid colours if your TV supports HDR.
PS4 Firmware v4.0 Features Revealed
Sony has announced that PS4 Firmware 4.00 public beta has commended, and is available to anyone currently signed up to the public beta program. The firwmare is the major update to the PS4, bringing with it a multitude of changes including a UI refresh, better and customisable Quick Menu, and Folder and Library organisation functionality.

PS4 Firmware update v3.55 is now available to download, but don’t expect anything major. The firmware is a minor update, improving the quality of the system performance. The update is mandatory, so you’ll need to update your system before you can go online. The update weighs in at 287 MiB.
PS3 System Software Ver. 4.80
PS3 Firmware update 4.80 is available to download. The minor update improves system performance, likely in relation to newly released games for the console. There hasn’t been a major firmware update for the PS3 in years, but at least bugs are still being addressed.

PS4 Firmware v3.50 is officially available to download, and brings with it lots of new features and changes, including user-requested functionality. PS4 Firmware v3.50 Out Tomorrow
The next major firmware update the PS4, version v3.50, has graduated from the recent beta and will be officially releasing tomorrow. PS4 Firmware v3.50 includes a number of new features, including the ability to appear offline, online friend notifications, and new ways to connect. Along with it also comes the PC / Mac Remote Play application, which lets you play your PS4 on a computer.

PS4 Firmware v3.50, codenamed Musashi, is going into beta testing tomorrow, 2nd March 2016, and will include some frequently-requested features including Friend Online Notifications, and the ability to Appear Offline.

Sony is once again allowing gamers the chance to beta test the next PS4 Firmware update, giving those able to get access a sneak peek into the new features coming to the console.
