Sony has released a new minor firmware update for the PS4 today, updating the system software to version 4.05. The changelog for this update states that this update “improves the quality of the system performance”. The update weighs in at 297 MB, and is available now for your console.

Sony has just released a new minor firmware update for the PS4, improving the system’s stability. The update is 297 MB in size, but only offers stability improvements. The PS4’s major v4.0o update was released last month, which made a number of changes to the system – this update presumably fixes some bugs in that update.

The next major firmware update for the PS4 is now available to download, bringing with it many new features as well as a new User Interface for various screens on the system. Sony has added a customisable and larger Quick Menu, which you can access using the PS button; added offline trophy browsing along with the ability to see the details of hidden trophies; and lots more. This update also adds HDR support to the console, giving you more vivid colours if your TV supports HDR.
