If you are still encountering issues with PS4 Firmware v2.00 or v2.01, Sony has released yet another minor update to improve system stability. PS4 Firmware v2.02 is now available to download and improves system stability during the use of features, games and apps.
Sony has released PS4 Firmware v2.01 to fix issues people have been having with Firmware 2.00, and in particular, the updated Rest Mode. The new patch is now available to download and improves “system stability during use of some features”.
With the release of PS4 Firmware v2.00 yesterday, the PS4 now supports custom themes. The firmware update lets you change the background and icons on the PS4 using themes downloadable from the PlayStation Store, or you can change the colour of the default “flow” dynamic background.
PS4 Firmware v2.0 is now available to download, and we’ve pulled the official changelog from the PS4 to reveal all the features and changes added to the PS4 in this update. In addition to the previously announced features like Play Share, USB Music Playback and YouTube uploading, the firmware also makes changes to the notification popups, changes to the settings menu and more.
Sony has released a few videos to show the upcoming features in PS4 Firmware v2.0, which releases tomorrow. The first video takes a look at the new Play Share feature that allows you to stream your game to a friend who doesn’t already own it, either to play co-op or to get help on a level you’re having difficulty with. Sony has revealed more of the features coming to PS4 firmware v2.00, which is coming this Autumn. The firmware update was first announced back in August at Gamescom, with the highlight being “Play Share”. Now Sony has revealed more of the features that will be added to the PS4 in the new update.
Sony announced the next major firmware update for the PS4 at it’s Gamescom conference, detailing a few of the new features we’ll see in Firmware v2.00. Unfortunately, the firmware didn’t get a firm release date, but Sony did mention that its scheduled for release this autumn. The update will include YouTube support, supporting both video uploading using the Share button, and playback via a dedicated YouTube App.
