Square-Enix have released new screenshots and concept art for the rebranded Final Fantasy XIV title A Realm Reborn. The title is expected to launch on the PS3 and PC later this year, with a beta planned for the Winter. The title was shown at Gamescom yesterday, showing the games progress.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn developer Square-Enix is keen to show off more of the upcoming PS3 game, and as a result has released a new trailer for the game. The new trailer shows off some of the cinematics in the game.

Square-Enix have released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV (or at least the updated version of it). The new trailer shows off the improvements made to the game in version 2.0 of the game, which will be released on the PS3 next year.
Final Fantasy XIV Beta Coming In Winter
Following on from the Final Fantasy XIV Interview we posted earlier this week, fans of Final Fantasy will be happy to know that the blog post has been updated with a mention of a public beta for the game. It now appears that the game itself won’t be launch this winter, but a beta will instead.

When it was first launched back in 2010, Final Fantasy XIV for PC was criticized by players and the media, and eventually the planned PS3 version was postponed. Since then, Square Enix decided to reshuffle the leading developers of the game. It has been just over a year since the original launch of Square Enix MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, and during that time players haven’t had to fork out once for a subscription. The game is riddled with bugs and design flaws, making the title a big catastrophe for Square-Enix. Over the next year, the game will make a transition to Final Fantasy XIV 2.0, featuring a number of game-changing updates and visual improvements.
Development On PS3 Version of Final Fantasy XIV Now Complete
Since Final Fantast XIV was delayed on the PS3 a few months back, we haven’t heard much about the game. Citing “memory issues”, the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV was delayed to March 2011. But according to the latest issue of Famitsu, however, Square Enix has finished development of the PS3 version and is looking to make a fresh start for the MMO.
Final Fantasy XIV Delayed Due to Memory Issues
The “technical problems” cited by Square Enix as a reason to delay the launch of Final Fantasy XIV back in July was due to memory issues on the PS3. Producer Hiromichi Tanaka recently revealed that the reason for the delay was the PS3’s RAM restriction.
Final Fantasy XIV Rated As “Teen” By ESRB
The upcoming MMORPG from Square-Enix has been rated as “Teen” by the ESRB. The online game is said to contain up-skirt shots, suggestive references and swear words. All of which is pretty acceptable from your typical game. If you want to know more, the ESRB description of the game below is quite amusing.

Last month we reported the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV was scheduled for release in March 2010, a whole six months after the release of the PC version. Square Enix has now revealed the real reason why they decided to bump up the release date of Final Fantasy XIV, citing “technical problems” as the cause of the delay.
