Sony has announced that it is terminating support for Facebook on the PS3 and PS Vita. Full support will be withdrawn at the start of next year, but the application for the PS Vita and PlayStation TV has already been removed from the PlayStation Store as of September 15th 2015. Support will continue for the PS4 so you can continue to upload videos and screenshots.

5-in-1 Arcade Mini Getting Facebook Support
While the PS3 already has Facebook support in a few games and on the XMB, the PSP has yet to see similar treatment. The first Minis title will Facebook support will be 5-in-1 Arcade Hits, from Czech developer Grip Games. The title will be available to download from the PlayStation Store this week for €2.99.
Major PlayTV Update Due Towards The End of 2010
PlayTV hasn’t been updated in a while, but James Thorpe, PlayStation Network Product Manager, as given us a head-up that a major update will be coming by the end of the year. Testing of the new update has already begun but no details about what to expect were revealed except for one particular feature. Thorpe did tease that other “great enhancements to PlayTV and brand new features will also be included in the update.”
Buzz! Quiz World Patch Adds Facebook Publishing
Sony added Facebook functionality to the PS3 in Firmware 3.10, allowing you to publish trophy information and PlayStation Store purchases on your profile. Soon, Buzz! Quiz World will be patched to include in-game publishing – the first PS3 title to do so. The game will be patched on March 22nd and will work with the existing Facebook settings on your PS3.
PS3 Firmware 3.10 Details
It’s now official – Facebook Integration is coming to the PlayStation 3 in the next firmware update, v3.10. For the moment, the Facebook connectivity on the PlayStation 3 will automatically update your Facebook Newsfeed with trophy and PlayStation Store activity, but more functionality is planned for the future. According to Eric Lempel, “This is just the beginning of our integration with Facebook and we are looking forward to adding new features enhancing the experience in future updates.”
Facebook Confirmed for PS3
A source close to Sony has told Eurogamer that yes, Facebook is heading to PS3. The images of the service that appeared on the PlayStation website earlier this week, were posted by mistake and later taken down. The official Sony UK PR line is that there will be more information on this “very shortly”.
Facebook Coming to PlayStation 3
Some images found on the PlayStation Website suggest that Facebook and Customizable profile cards will be coming to the PlayStation 3 in a future firmware update. The images have since been taken down from the UK PlayStation Website but its a little too late, as this story is spreading like rapid fire across the Internet.
