Digital Comics Update for Jan 14th 2010
This week on the PSP Comic Store, a massive 46 comics have been added to the European Store and over 50 new titles to the US Store. Highlights include the first game related comic, the newly released: Army of Two #1. In the Marvel camp you can read the first six ever episodes of The Incredible Hulk (1962); and we introduce both Uncanny X-Men and Blade to the library. Plus more Avengers and more Daredevil.
Digital Comics Update for Jan 7th 2010
The second Digital Comic update, and the first for 2010, is now live for Europe and North American. 40 new comics are available for purchase in Europe, including new episodes of The Avengers, Paranormal Activity, and Star Trek. The US has received just over 40 new titles as well, including new episodes of Daredevil, G.I. Joe and Transformers.
Digital Comics Update for Dec 22nd 2009
Despite launching over 550 titles last week, the Digital Comics Store has been updated today, adding further titles. Just like the regular PlayStation Store, the Comic store will be updated each and every week. This week, 8 new titles have been added to the UK Store and 10 new titles to the US Store. Digital Comics Service Now Live
Earlier today, the Digital Comics Service launched in UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa! You can choose your favourite comics from hundreds of new and classic collections in Comic Store of PlayStation Store, and take hundreds of comics on your PSP anywhere you go. Choose from the battling superheroes of Marvel, including Spider-man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four, to Disney’s Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
More Free Digital Comics for PSP Now Available
If you don’t already know, last week Sony released the first comic title for the PSP to mark the launch of the upcoming service. This week, we have two more codes to allow you to download two additional titles for free (see below). The Comic reader application is available to download from the XMB if you have firmware 6.20 installed. See below for codes to download Star Trek: Enterprise Experiment #1 and Astro Boy Movie Adaptation #1.
Free Digital Comic for PSP
Now that the Digital Comic application is available to download on the PSP, you can try out a free comic to see how it works. If you live in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa you can use the below code to download a free copy of Transformers: All Hail Megatron #1. The comic is 45MB in size.
PSP Firmware 6.20 Out Today
The PlayStation 3 firmware has already been updated this week, and now the PSP is getting its own update. Firmware 6.20 will be released later today, according to the Japanese PlayStation Website. The new update adds support for the PlayStation Video Store in Europe, which also launches today, and the PSP Comic Service.
Ben Templesmith Talks About Digital Comics
With the Digital Comic service coming to PSP soon and Ben Templesmith, creator of the weirdly wonderful Wormwood, visiting London earlier this month, Sony has decided to up a video. Ben very kindly took the time to speak to Sony outside his hotel in London’s Docklands.
Square-Enix Manga Coming to PSP
Square Enix is all aboard Sony’s PSP digital comics plan. They plan to release four of their manga series on the PlayStation Store this December. Gangan Comics, Square Enix’s manga publishing division, handles titles such as: Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Bamboo Blade, When Cicadas Cry, and Kingdom Hearts in Japan. Specific titles were not announced, but it looks like Fullmetal Alchemist is in the bag.
