Call of Duty: Black Ops II continues to dominate the UK sales Chart as we edge closer to the Christmas period. With just a few weeks to to until 2012 is over, Black Ops II looks likely to keep hold of the all-important top spot and become one of this year’s biggest selling games. In other movements, Hitman: Absolution has climbed right up from 6th to 2nd.
After endless promotions, trailers and advertising by Sony, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has failed to make a dent in the UK charts. The title entered the chart at position 38 after the first week of sales, way behind titles like Hitman Absolution, Assassin’s Creed III and LEGO Lord of the Rings. In fact, LEGO Lord of the Rings was the highest ranking new title at position 6.
The first week’s numbers for Call of Duty: Black Ops II are in and the news is as expected. The game has sold over 11 million units across the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in it’s first week on sale. In comparison, the game outsold the previous version by around 550,000 units, which sold over 10.5 million units in its first week.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is out in just a few weeks, and Activision has released a live-action trailer for the game, which aired in the US during Monday Night Football on ESPN this week. The one minute trailer is directed by Guy Ritchie and features a number of celebrities, including Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr.
Treyarch has released the launch trailer for upcoming first-person shooter Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2. The trailer shows new game footage, including a look at some of the tech from 2025 and a number of explosions. The game is scheduled for launch on November 13th 2012 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Zombies are making a return this Autumn to upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. First seen in Call of Duty: World at War in the form of Nazi Zombies, the zombie mode is a fan favourite and offers an alternative to the usual multiplayer action found in the game. Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Amazon have already achieved more than three times the orders for the first Black Ops game in the first twenty-four hours, according to the company’s PR dept. Other retailers have yet to comment on their pre-order numbers, but the game is already looking like it’s going to be one of this year’s biggest titles.
