Bungie has revealed that the beta for Destiny will be available first on PlayStation platforms, before heading to other consoles. The beta will start on the PS3 and PS4, but to get access you’ll have to pre-order the game at selected retailers. Bungie has also released a new trailer for the game, which you can watch right here.
Two exclusive betas have been made available to PlayStation Plus subscribers this week, including Dark Souls II on the PS3 and Destiny of Spirits on the PS Vita. Both betas are time sensitive, with the Dark Souls II beta available only for a few hours this Sunday, October 27th 2013.
Following the release of Destiny’s official box art yesterday, a new trailer for the game has been released containing information on how to access the Destiny beta. As mentioned previously, you’ll be able to access the beta by pre-ordering the game, and this is confirmed in the new trailer below. Beta access will only be available from selected retailers, so be sure to look out for the “Beta” logo when pre-ordering the game.
EA have revealed that an open beta for Battlefield 4 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC will launch in October, ahead of the game’s release on October 29th. In addition, the release dates for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game were also revealed, with the PS4 version available on November 12th in North America and November 29th in Europe.
Square-Enix has announced that beta testing for the PS4 version of MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will begin in February 2014, in addition to upgrade plans for PS3 owners. Beta testing will begin on February 22nd 2014,and a free transition program will be in place for gamers wanting to upgrade from the PS3 version to the PS4 version.
WB Games and Splash Damage have confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins will be the first game in the Batman: Arkham series to feature a multiplayer mode. Called Invisible Predator Online, this new mode takes the concept of the earlier games’ Challenge Rooms and puts other players into the role of the Joker and Bane’s thugs.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting exclusive access to Trion Worlds’s exciting new IP, Defiance. Defiance is a ground-breaking entertainment experience which connects the TV world to a multi-platform, multiplayer online video game. The beta will be available between Friday, March 22nd 2013 until Monday, March 25th 2013, exclusive to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Footage from the Crysis 3 beta has been released showing the game in action. The game’s open beta begins in just a few days, do if you are eager to kick some alien ass, all you have to do is go to the Crysis 3 beta sign up page and enter your details. The open beta begins on January 29th 2013 (next week Tuesday), in the mean time, check out the beta footage below.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be releasing on the PS3 and PC later this year, and as a result, Square Enix is preparing for the game’s beta test phase. The beta test application site is now accepting applications for the PC or PS3 version of the game, and features a new prologue video too.
Sony have started sending out beta codes for those that signed up to take part in the God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta. Check your inbox for an email from Sony, providing instructions on how to get your PSN Voucher code to download the beta client. The voucher code will be displayed on the European PlayStation Beta website if you were successfully chosen.
