MAG Beta Now In Phase 4

The next phase of the MAG Beta has just kicked off. The game has seen more than 6,000 changes from our last phase to Beta 4, not the least of which include an increased level cap from 40 to 60, a retooled skill tree and experience curve, and an improved ranking system. Two new major features have been added to Beta 4, including “proximity chat”, which allows you to hear enemies communicating as you get closer, and the Shadow War bonuses system, which rewards players based on the number of contracts own by their PMC.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Beta Starts Nov 19th

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is scheduled for release in March 2010, but to whet you appetite, the beta for the PlayStation 3 will be available from November 19th 2009. The beta will feature the huge ‘Arica Harbour’ map where up to 24 players compete to secure valuable crates in the ‘Rush’ game mode as the action moves across a variety of different locations. Getting access to the beta will differ from country to country, but see below for some pointers.

Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Demo Now Open To All

Naughty Dog announced today that the multiplayer demo will be available for everyone to download on the PlayStation Store starting at 11 a.m. PST / 7pm BST. The demo has been available to those who pre-ordered the game for a few weeks now, and will continue until October 12th. Once the retail version of the game is released, all stats from the Beta server will be reset.

MAG Beta Invites Going Out In Europe

Moments ago we received (another) MAG beta invite, but this time on our European PlayStation Network Account. If you happen to live in Europe, check your inbox to see if you have been lucky enough to have received a code. The beta in Europe will run until October 9th 2009 from 17:00 to 20:00 BST and 00:00 and 03:00 BST.

LittleBigPlanet Water Beta Invites Going Out

Check your inbox as LittleBigPlanet Water Beta invites are being sent out. If you are lucky enough to be given a beta invite, you will be rewarded with exclusive items such as Beta Test Vest as a thank you for your participation. It will also be possible to earn a Beta Bug Blaster Hazmat costume, a prize we give only to those testers who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide us with bugs and feedback, or generally make themselves very useful.

MAG Public Beta Starts Thursday for Qore Subscribers

If you are a Qore subscriber, the first wave of voucher codes for MAG have been sent. If you haven’t received your code yet, don’t worry as more invites will be send over the next few days. The beta starts this Thursday, September 17th 2009 and runs until November 8th, so you have plenty of time to play the game. The email subject of the email is “You’re in: Welcome to the MAG Beta”.

Uncharted 2 Goes Gold

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has officially gone gold in North America, which means development on the game is complete. That means only 32 days until it hits store shelves. If you can’t wait for the game to come out, pre-order the game and get exclusive access to the multiplayer beta which is scheduled to start later this month.

MAG Pre-Order Bonuses

MAG is due for release on January 26th 2010 if you live in North America. If you pre-order your copy now, Sony and Zipper Interactive are willing to throw in something extra. Depending on where you pre-order your copy of the game (Amazon, GameCrazy, GameStop etc.), you can get access to the public beta, exclusive PlayStation Home Space or a exclusive in-game character. Rumor Alert: Gran Turismo 5 Beta Inbound?

An image has surfaced on the internet indicating that a Gran Turismo 5 beta is coming soon, and could already be in the private beta stage. The image clearly shows a PS3 download screen for the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5. A beta for the game, due to release this winter, hasn’t been officially mentioned or announced yet. However, it’d be no surprise that a game on this scale would need some sort of beta testing phase to make sure that the online mode was up-to-scratch.
