In EA’s E3 2010 Press Conference, the company announced a new DLC pack for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Gamers will be heading to the harsh Vietnamese jungle this Winter with four new maps playable in classic Battlefield modes including Conquest and Rush.
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be getting patched this week with a number of bug fixes and enhancements to the game. The changes with were announced as part of the PC update last month will be available to download on May 11th for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. DICE and EA announced in a press release that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is on pace to be the top selling title for March 2010. The game has already some over 2.3M units in North America and Europe, according to internal data from EA. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is winning accolades from fans and critics for outstanding visuals and action-packed gameplay with no less than 46 outlets having awarded the game a score of 90 or above.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 features vehicular combat set across 8 huge sandbox maps. New vehicles like the ATV Quad Bike allow for all-new multiplayer tactics in the warzone. Destruction has been taken to new heights thanks to the updated Frostbite engine allowing holes to be blasted through buildings to compromise cover, thereby delivering a unique experience in every match.
Battelfield: Bad Company 2 is set for release on March 2nd 2010 in North America and Europe a few days later, on March 5th 2010. In addition, DICE will also be releasing two exclusive downloadable content packs on launch day, both for free. The game will have an in-game store when you can download the content from. “I think people will be thrilled to see what’s in [the store]. On day one, you will get some really cool stuff,” said senior producer Patrick Bach in an interview.
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 beta recently took place attracting over 300,000 players from Europe and North America. Now, DICE has announced a public demo will be available in February 2010. Retailer GAME revealed that the demo will be available in Europe for three weeks via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live from February 4th 2010. North America will get the demo the following week, on February 11th 2010.
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 beta is soon coming to a close, and has been running since November 19th 2009. DICE has shared some useful statistics about the beta, which as seen over 300,000 players and over 45 million kills in total. Once the beta finished, you will not be able to play the game until a multiplayer demo is released prior to the game’s release in March 2010. Check out the statistics below.
