Super Stardust HD was originally at full HD resolution was it was released a few years ago, running at full 1080p resolution. With the 3D update, running the game in 3D mode only runs at 720p but at a whopping 120fps (60fps per eye). Luckily, full HD resolution is retained on a normal HDTV.

3D Gaming Now Available on PS3
The first set of 3D games are now available to download from the PlayStation Store. By downloading the 3D Collection you can play WipEout HD, SuperStardust HD, PAIN and a MotorStorm Pacific Rift demo in amazing stereoscopic 3D. If you already own the games you can upgrade for free or you can download all four for the bargain price of €29.99.
PS3 Firmware for 3D Blu-Rays Available Before End of the Year
Sony has officially confirmed that PS3 will receive a separate firmware update to support new 3D Blu-ray discs. Sony says (via Andriasang) that the new firmware update will be released ‘by the end of the year’. Firmware 3.30, which was released in April, added 3D game support to the console.
Super Stardust HD Now Available in 3D
If you happen to be a early tech adopter and have a 3D TV lying around, you can now play the first full 3D game on your PS3. Super Stardust HD has now been updated with full 3D graphics and can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store. If you already own the title, delete your copy and re-download it to get the 3D version.
Gran Turismo 5 Delayed Because of 3D & Move Support
The development of Gran Turismo 5 has been stuck at 90% for a while. MVC UK now reports that the stalled development is because of the implementation of 3D and PlayStation Move support. Personally, I think it good to have 3D and Move support from the start, rather than waiting for patches to the game.
PS3 Games Getting Free 3D Patches
CVG has learned that several PlayStation 3 titles will be getting free patches to upgrade them to 3D. The 3D patch launches this summer – rumored for a June release, and four games will be update to support 3D from launch. The four titles, WipEout HD, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, SuperStardust HD and PAIN, will also come free with Sony’s 3D Bravia televisions.
Batman: Arkham Asylum Now In 3D
Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition is now available to purchase and comes with four challenge maps that were previously released as paid DLC (check the list below). In addition, the game also comes with two pairs of 3D glasses that allow you to play the game in 3D on any television.
How 3D Works on the PlayStation 3
Firmware 3.30 turned on 3D game support on the PS3 this week, but there are no 3D games current available. Digital Foundry have done some investigation into how the technology works on the console, starting with how Sony translated WipEout HD from 2D into 3D. In short, many games need to scale down the resolution and reduce the frame rate.
PlayStation 3 3D Line-Up Confirmed
Sony have confirmed that the first set of 3D games for the PlayStation 3 will be available June 2010. In addition, the 3D firmware update for the console will also be released in June, though the exact release date is yet to be announced. To mark the occasion, Sony will be giving away 3D games and Blu-ray videos along with the HX800 3DTV, Sony’s first consumer TV set.
Killzone 2 Will Support 3D
In the April Episode of Qore, Veronica Belmont revealed that Killzone 2 will be getting 3D support when the technology launches in Summer 2010. A number of other PlayStation 3 titles has already been confirmed to support 3D technology, including WipEout HD, Gran Turismo 5 and SuperStardust HD.
