PlayStation Now will be getting a big upgrade over the coming weeks to add Full HD support to the streaming service. This means that compatible games can soon be streamed at 1080p resolution, up from 720p. The upgrade will benefit PS4 games available on the service which support 1080p.

What Resolutions Does the PS5 Support?
The PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition will both support a maximum of 8K resolution, and 4K at 120 FPS via the included HDMI 2.1 cable. The new PS5 UI will be native 4K, but the console will also support 1080p HD resolution.

The latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V on the PS4 will run in“pin sharp” 1080p resolution. Other aspects of the game has also been improved, including greater draw distance, 100 new songs and GTA Online supporting up to 30 players.
Thief will be 1080p at 30fps on PS4
The PS4 continues to prove how powerful it is with upcoming game, Thief, confirmed to run natively at 1080p resolution. In comparison, the game will run at 900p on the Xbox One, with both version running at 30 frames per second (fps). Nicolas Cantin, Game Director, said, “You really need good eyes to see the difference,” meaning that the Xbox One version is effectively “as good as the PS4 version”.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Gets 1080p Patch on PS4
Ubisoft have announced a patch for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag that will enable the game to render in 1080p natively on the PS4. The game currently runs at 900p, which is upscaled to 1080p at 30fps. The game shipped with 900p resolution, but developers then used xtra time to get the PS4 version running in native 1080p resolution.
Call Of Duty: Ghosts Resolution Confirmed at 1080p on PS4
Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin has confirmed, via the twitlonger service, that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be running at a higher resolution on PS4 than on the Xbox One. The PS4 version will run at 1080p resolution natively, while the Xbox One version will be upscaled to 1080p from a 720p resolution.
Final Fantasy XIV Won’t Be 1080p on PS3
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, the next game is the series won’t be running in full HD resolution on the PlayStation 3. Hiromichi Tanaka, producer of Final Fantasy XIV, has confirmed that the game will indeed be caught running at 1080p, but only on the PC providing you have a powerful enough graphics card.
