Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced a couple of new official PSP accessories. One of them us a new Battery Pack (PSP-280), which retains the same size as the current pack but provides up to 20% added capacity at 2200mAh.
Sony will also be launching a new official PSP Memory Stick Pro DUO (PSP-MP1G) that will provide your PSP with 1GB of storage, which will offer PSP owners a lot more space to play with!
Both accessories will hit Japan on 27th of October, but no dates have been confirmed for the US or Europe.
Sony has released a new Firmware Version to counter act the recent exploit found in firmware 2.0. The new update corrects the TIFF image exploit that allows the PSP to be downgraded to v1.5.
The update is available to NA and Japan at time of writing. The update is available using the Network Update feature on your PSP.
Note: Upgrading your firmware will mean you can no longer make use of the Firmware 2.0 exploit. Upgrade at your own will. But remember, no homebrew for you!
Settings
An exploit in PSP firmware 2.0 has been found that allows you to run binary code. The exploit was found in the way PSP handels the TIF image format.

Talkman is a Microphone for PSP accompanied with voice recognition software, allowing you to speak japanese in theory.
The software can be used to translate English to Japanese, Korean, and Chinese to name a few, and vice-versa. The retail price will cost £10 more than a regular PSP game, and is due for launch in Japan this November.
The Talkman will be available in Japan for approx $50. UK price will probably be in the region of £40 – £50. A UK launch date has not been confirmed.
The PSP has become the fastest-selling games console of all time in the UK, selling over 185,000 units in its first four days on sale, according to official figures.
Most of the games launched on the 1st of September also made their way into the Top 40 chart, with Ridge Racer beating the lot. Wipeout Pure, Virtual Tennis and Metal Gear Acid are just a small sample of the other games in the chart!
