UPDATE:
According to a few websites, Sony has sneaked some unannounced features into PS3 Firmware 2.60, these include:
- Blu-Ray Disc Theme Support
- HDD Data can be accessed and deleted in-game
- 3-D Secure Support
- Improved System Stability
‘Improved System Stability’ isn’t exactly a feature but it’s good to know Sony is improving the stability of the software. We’re not exactly sure what is meant by BD Disc Theme Support and 3-D Secure Support but it could be something Sony are adding for future use. As for ‘HDD Data can be accessed and deleted in-game’, we’re sure some data could already be deleted within a game. Sony hasn’t confirmed any of the above features so for now, they fall into the ‘Rumor’ category.
Lord of the Rings: Conquest Trophies
The Lord of the Rings: Conquest puts players into the thick of the tremendous battle over The One Ring, playing out battles from both sides of the confrontation! Conquest will let players take control of many of the characters and creatures from the series and pit them on any of the franchise’s famous battlefields.
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits Trophies
Turn down the lights, crank up the amps and prepare to command center stage as some of the most famous AND infamous tracks from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock step into the spotlight in the most epic, full band jam session to-date — Guitar Hero Greatest Hits.
SOCOM: Confrontation Trophies
SOCOM breaches onto the PS3 in high-definition with the ultimate next-generation online combat experience. SOCOM Confrontation focuses on online play and the global community and clans that support it.
System Software Ver. 2.60

PSP System Software Ver. 5.03
Security
- System software stability during use of some features has been improved.
PSP Firmware v5.03
Over at the PlayStation.Blog, Eric Lempel has announced that PSP Firmware v5.03 is now available to download. The minor update "improves system software stability during use of some features." Other than that, there is nothing different in the new firmare update. However, it could also patch the recently discovered GripShift exploit so if you are using homebrew, you may want to hold off on upgrading your PSP for the time being.
The official changelog for the update states "a security patch was added to address security vulnerabilities in the system software."
