In order to use the console vertically, Sony recommends you purchase a vertical stand for the console, costing you an additional $25 / €25 on top of the price of the PS3 itself. PlayStation Home will be getting a serious upgrade this fall. The main improvement will be Universal Game Launching, allowing you to launch into any game directly from within Home. Titles that fully support game launching (like Street Fighter IV, Resistance 2, MotorStorm, Far Cry 2 and Warhawk) will be identified by separate icons that appear over an avatar’s head and will have varying degrees of additional multiplayer functionality built in. Simplified game launching will take you from Home to the start menu of your favorite games with ease.
In need of another Uncharted 2: Among Thieves fix? We’ve got a new trailer for you to watch – the one that was shown during Sony’s GamesCom Press Conference. The footage in the trailer is generated directly from the Naughty Dog 2.0 engine. Yesterday at GamesCom 2009, Sony announced the Digital Comic Store for the PSP. The new service will allow PSP owners to access a range of media on their PSP. The digital reader service will be launched with Digital Comics this December in select countries, including the U.S and regions in Europe. A 250GB PlayStation 3 Slim console has been discovered on the FCC site. The new model, CECH-2000B, is different to the model announced yesterday at GamesCom, which is model number CECH-2000A. The only difference we can see is that it features a bigger hard drive than the model coming out in September.

Have you pre-ordered your PSP Go! yet? Sony has announced that gamers who register their PSP Go! during the launch week will each receive a free digital copy of Gran Turismo for PSP. Andrew House (CEO of SCEE) announced at GamesCom that registering your PSP Go! between the 1st and 10th of October will get you a free downloadable copy of the game.
