Craig Alexander, vice president of project development at Turbine, has revealed that the company is working on a MMO title for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Speaking during a keynote at GDC Austin, Alexander said that the unnamed project has been in-house for the past year and a half, and is currently pencilled in for release in early 2011.
BioShock 2 Hitting Shops Worldwide on February 9
2K Games has revealed that BioShock 2 will receive a global release across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms on February 9, 2010. The hotly anticipated sequel takes place a decade after the events of the original BioShock, with gamers assuming command of one of Rapture’s lumbering Big Daddy behemoths as they attempt to track down a mysterious creature that has been spotted kidnapping young girls along the Atlantic coastline.
Afrika Goes Gold in the US
The team at Natsume have announced that PlayStation 3 safari outing Afrika has gone gold and is on track for its hotly anticipated release on U.S. shores early next month. Released in Japan back in August 2008, Afrika pits gamers in the shoes of a freelance photographer, allowing users to snap dramatic shots of heaps of wildlife, including Lions, Cheetas, Elephants and Rhinos across meticulously rendered backdrops.
GAME UK Unveils Modern Warfare 2 Veteran Edition
UK retail giant GAME.co.uk has lifted the lid on an exclusive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Veteran Edition pack. Available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the hotly anticipated shooter, the Veteran Edition will set you back a whopping £119.99 and includes the Hardened Edition of the title (that is, an artbook, a card to download the original Call of Duty and a fancy steel book case) along with a gift box and Captain Soap MacTavish figure. The Veteran Edition costs the same as the Prestige Edition, but you don’t get the cool Night Vision Goggles.

Konami Details MGS: Peace Walker TGS 09 Demo
A playable version of Metal Gear Solid: Peach Walker will be appearing at the Tokyo Game Show later this month. For those that are unable to fly out to Japan, Kojima Productions has detailed the playable demos they’re bringing to TGS 09. First off, there are two ways to play the demo. You can line up at the Peace Walker Demo Play Area and get your hands on a demo unit. If you’d rather not wait in line, you can download a copy of the demo from the Demo Download Areas.
Sony’s Letter to BBC’s Watchdog
The Yellow Light of Death is becoming an increasing problem, according to BBC’s Watchdog. The YLOD was featured on BBC’s Watchdog show last night with a number of users experiencing the issue. The BBC pinned the issue down to a hardware issue present is most consoles, and we know from most cases it is in fact a hardware issue. In response, Sony sent a letter to the BBC detailing the returns policy and commenting on the hardware failure. If you are interested in reading this incredibly long letter, we’ve included it below.
