Rumor Alert: 250GB PS3 Slim Coming Next Week
If you live in Europe, a rumor has been circulating about a new PlayStation 3 Slim model. According to NowGamer, the much-talked about 250GB PS3 Slim model will be coming out as soon as next week. No specific date was given out, but the retail source seems to indicate that this release is no coincidence as news also came out that the new Xbox 360 “Super Elite” will be coming out with bundles.
Netflix Will Come To The PS3, Eventually
If you are looking for more video download options on your PlayStation 3, you will likely have an additional service via mass online rental company Netflix. In a recent interview with Reuters, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said he’d like the video service available on all systems, not just the Xbox 360. Microsoft has an exclusive deal with Netflix right now, but Hastings believes the video rental service will be available on all systems.
New Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time Walkthrough Video
Sony posted a walkthrough video on the PlayStation.Blog of a Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, featuring James Stevenson, community manager at Insomniac Games. The video is part walkthrough of Axiom City and part weapon tutorial. New weapons include the ‘chimp-o-matic,’ which, as the name implies, turns robot enemies into mechanical monkeys with crashing cymbals. Toss up the groove-a-tron, and all of the monkeys start to dance.
Uncharted 2 Dated for Europe
Sony has staple-gunned a European release date to Naughty Dog’s hotly anticipated sequel Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, confirming the game will hit PAL territories on October 16th. The adventure title was originally pencilled in for release on October 23, though the date was quickly retracted on Twitter by Naughty Dog co-president, Christophe Balestra.
Batman: Arkham Asylum Has Shipped 2.5 Million Units
Eidos and Warner Bros. Interactive have revealed that critically acclaimed superhero outing Batman: Arkham Asylum has shipped a total of 2.5 million units to retail since the game’s launch last month. Understandably chuffed at the news, Phil Rogers, CEO of Eidos, commented: “Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of the stand-out games this year,” adding, “I’ve been following the great reviews and consumer blogs and I’m delighted that gamers everywhere love playing this game as much as we do.”
SEGA Leaks Sony’s Plans for PS2 and Dreamcast Emulation on PS3
Sony and SEGA met in early August of this year to discuss SEGA’s PS3 and PSP releases, as well as Sony’s plans for the console in the near future. The confidential notes from the meeting were leaked by SEGA (included below), and suggest Sony is looking to emulate all PlayStation 2 titles and release them on the PlayStation Network. There was also mention of Dreamcast titles.
Comet Crash Free Update Coming Soon to PSN
Comet Crash, the tower defense game for the PlayStation 3 is getting a free update that will add new features to the game. Comet Crash will get a free patch in a few weeks with some new and remastered sound effects, graphics tweaks, language support and a newly optimized SDTV layout.

Konami Dates Zombie Apocalypse
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has announced the release date and new screenshots from the highly anticipated downloadable game Zombie Apocalypse. Coming to the PlayStation Network on September 24, Zombie Apocalypse drops players in an epic battle between the dead and the living. Equipped with ample artillery, players’ dual analog stick shooting skills will be put to the test in the thrilling arcade style shooter.
