When firmware 3.0 was first released, there were many reports of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune freezing and various parts in the game. Since then, Sony release Firmware v3.01 to patch the issue. While the optional patch did work for some, it also caused more problems for others. The comments section of PlayStiaton Blog’s Firmware 3.01 announcement has been overwhelmed by user reports of disc drive errors since Firmware 3.00 and 3.01 were released; most commonly, read errors reportedly occur when running Blu-ray games or movies, but in some alleged cases plain old DVDs are not working either.
PlayStation Store Update for Oct 1st 2009
This week on the PlayStation Store, there is lots of new content available for download. Both the US and European Stores have price promotions on many titles. Europe has also received five new playable demos and the US has two. The October Episode of Qore is now available to download on the US Store. As for game add-on content, the Watchmen LittleBigPlanet costumes are out and new Fallout 3 content.

PlayStation Home v1.3 Available Today
After some delay, version 1.30 of PlayStation Home will finally be released later today. The major update to PlayStation Home adds many new features including Universal Game Launching, In-store Item Preview, new Emotes and Actions, new types of items and a whole load of bug fixes. PSP Firmware 6.10 Now Available
PSP Firmware 6.10 is now available to download. The update adds new support for the Media Go application and also adds Internet Tethering support to the PSPgo. Pro Evo 10 PS3 Slim Coming to Japan
Japanese Fans of Pro Evo 2010 / Winning Eleven 2010 will be glad to know that a hardware bundle is headed your way. The new PlayStation 3 Slim, complete with 120GB hard drive and a DualShock 3 wireless controller will be bundled with a copy of the game. The bundle will be available to purchase from November 5th 2009 for ¥34,800 (approx. £242 / $388).
Gran Turismo Only Possible On PSP
Most games these days are multi-platform, and you may be wondering if Gran Turismo will ever be available on the Nintendo DS or even the iPhone. According to Sony, Gran Turismo is only possible on the PSP and PlayStation 3. While there hasn’t been an official comment from the developers, the latest Gran Turismo advert (see below) clearly states it’s “only possible on the PSP and PSPgo.”
