If you know your way around a calendar, you will be aware that Christmas falls on a Friday this year. And like most people, SCEE will be probably be getting hammered at the pub on Thrusday 24th December. As a result, the PlayStation Store will be updated earlier than usual that week, on Tuesday 22nd December 2009. In addition, there will be no update the following week as New Year’s Eve also falls on a Thursday.
European ModNation Racers Beta Coming In 2010

Qore subscribers will already know that the ModNation Racer Beta will be starting next week. For Europe, Liam Quigley, the European Product Manager for ModNation Racers, has revealed a localized beta test will starting in early 2010. The beta will run for two weeks and will feature exclusive European content to give gamers a taster of what it to come in ModNation Racers. Details on how to sign-up for the beta will be revealed in the next few weeks, but in the mean time, check out the sticker and layering walkthrough video below.
Modern Warfare Patch v1.05 Now Available

Another patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available for download. The patch improves the matchmaking system making it easier to find a well balanced match with an adequate number of players. Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling announced the release of patch v1.05 via twitter, and also confirmed that patch v1.06 is in the works. Unfortunately, patch v1.05 does not fix the recently discovered “Javelin” glitch.
Game Of The Year: Uncharted 2

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a likely contender for being the best game this year. Award-winning developer Naughty Dog has done an amazing job with this title, bring action, humor, and romance to the PlayStation 3 in an almost movie-like experience. The game was released in Europe on October 16th 2009 and was met with many perfect reviews. The Official PlayStation Magazine (the US, UK and Australian editions) gave Uncharted 2 100%, as did EuroGamer, CVG and many other critics.
Uncharted: Eye of Indra Episodes 3 and 4 Now Available

The final two episodes of the Uncharted: Eye of Indra motion comic are now available to purchase from the PlayStation Store. Episode 2 was released last week, just before Thanksgiving so be sure to check it out in case you missed it. Episodes 3 and 4 can be downloaded from the Store for $0.99 / £0.79 each – you can download the whole collection (four Episodes) for $2.97.
PlayStation Video Store Update for Dec 4th 2009

This week on the PlayStation Video Store, you can find Terminator Salvation and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian on the US Store. On the UK Store, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is now available to purchase as well as a number of other titles. A number of new videos are also available to download, including the Avatar Trailer and a Terminator Salvation Featurette.

Modern Warfare 2 Veteran Trophy Hack

Remember the Modern Warfare 2 Special-Ops Trophy Hack we posted earlier this week? Well, a new hack has been discovered, this time for unlocking the Veteran Mission Trophies. Just like the previous hack, you simply need to edit your gamesave data with the file below and replay a mission to unlock every mission in Veteran difficulty. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Dated

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is now more solid than ever in Japan. Naked Snake’s latest PSP adventure has been given a release date in its country of origin. The latest Famitsu issue has announced the game’s release as set for March 18, 2010. As for the west, Konami has revealed that Peace Walker will be available in the UK on May 28th 2010. Unfortunately, there is no release date for North America yet. The US will be getting the title in May 2010.
Rumor Alert: PSPgo UMD Add-on In the Works

An unidentified source has informed gaming news site CVG of Logitech’s plans to create a UMD Drive add-on for the PSPgo. No price or release information was revealed by the source, but apparently the add-on would “plug into the PSPgo, allowing users to play their UMD games on the portable.” Logitech UK said that they’re “not aware of it, so it may be something the US office is working on.” Neither Logitech’s US office nor Sony have so far said anything about this rumor.
