This week on the PlayStation Store, the ModNation Racers Beta has gone live, but only to the first 100,000 users who download it. New games have also been added to the Special Offers category on the store. Not much new add-on content this week except for Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks but there are three new Dynamic Themes available for purchase. For the US, you will find a new downloadable game and a PSOne classic, in addition to some game add-on content.
Heavy Rain Demo Available From February 11th 2010

The psychological thriller and PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain will hit stores in the US from February 23rd 2010, followed by mainland Europe from February 24th 2010 and finally the UK and Ireland from February 26th 2010. But, if you are still unsure about pre-ordering the game you can download the demo in Europe from February 11th 2010 according to Mike Kebby.
Borderlands Getting More DLC

Borderlands has received two DLC packs so far but more is on its way. According to Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software, “There will be some announcements on both [free updates and paid downloadable content] soon.” We speculate that the upcoming patch will include some free bonus content, though most of the new content will only be available by purchasing the new DLC packs.

New Uncharted 2 DLC Details

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be receiving more downloadable content in the near future according to Siliconera. The Uncharted 2 demo will go live on the PlayStation Store next week, bringing with it multiplayer skins from other PlayStation titles including Resistance 2, Infamous, and Killzone 2. Best of all, the DLC pack will be free to download.
VidZone Update for Jan 21st 2010

This week on VidZone, a selection of Hip-Hop Classics are available with the likes of Nas, Xzibit and Outkast. Other new playlists include Escape Winter, featuring Scissor Sisters and Beach Boys. Overall, not a whole load of new playlists this week but a large number of new videos have been added to VidZone.
Digital Comics Update for Jan 21st 2010

This week on the PSP Comic Store, you will find another fine selection of comics for you to download on to your PSPs. There’s a real mix this week for the UK, with everything from Shaun the Sheep to X-Men (2004). For the US, you’ll notice that Iron Man is the “featured superhero,” and various PSN staff members give us their favorites for Staff Picks.
Final Fantasy VIII Coming To Europe On February 4th 2010

So much for getting Final Fantasy VIII in Europe by end of January. The latest information from Mike Kebby over on the EU PlayStation.Blog is that the release date has been confirmed for February 4th 2010. Gamers in Europe will finally be able to replay the classic title on their PS3s and PSPgo in just a few week’s time.
Borderlands Breaks 2 Million Sales Milestone

Borderlands, the half first-person shooter and half loot-based role-playing game, has broken the 2 million sales mark according to Take-Two and the NDP Group. The title, which shipped for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last October, surpassed a publishing milestone in December, toppling one million units sold cumulatively in North America according to the NPD Group, which tracks videogame software sales.
Japanese DVR Kit to Include Trophies

Last week, we reported that Japan will be getting a DVR Kit similar to PlayTV in Europe, called Torne. More details about the add-on have been revealed since, and we were surprised to see trophy supported amongst the list of features. The “Master of Final Episodes” trophy will be unlocked once the user has watched enough final TV show episodes.
PlayStation Home Update

This week in PlayStation Home, Europeans have two new Tekken 6 outfits and a selection of character ornaments to look forward too. The costumes can be picked up at Threads, and the ornaments from Furniture. For those in the US, you can find new NFL jerseys that sport (pun intended) the names of some of the league’s best players, just in time for Super Bowl XLIV. You can also find NBA jerseys emblazoned with the logos of your favorite teams.
