Assassin’s Creed II DLC Available This Week
If you finished playing through Assassin’s Creed II, then you may recall there were a couple of corrupted sequences that Desmond wasn’t able to access in the Animus. Well, this week, you’ll be able to play through the first of two “repaired” sequences, as The Battle of Forli hits the PSN on Thursday.
PlayStation Home Getting Heavy Rain Space
The secret door behind the jumbo screen in the Presentation Podium Space will be opening its doors today unveiling a brand new space – The Backstage Pass. If you make it through the security door, you will be able to take part in the Heavy Rain: Evidence Analysis mini-game. If you manage to complete difficult puzzle, you will be rewarded with a special prize.
PS3 Exploit Released
George Hotz, a iPhone hacker who unlocked Apple’s iPhone, recently discovered a exploit on the PS3. Speaking to the BBC, he said the exploit “gives full memory space access and therefore ring 0 access from OtherOS.” He has since released the exploit on his blog, hoping to ignite the PS3 homebrew scene. The exploit is currently too complicated for just anyone to use it, but it could allow users to play pirated games.
Bayonetta Getting Patched to Allow HD Install
Bayonetta has a serious loading problem on the PS3, as we mentioned on our review. Tomorrow, a new patch will go live allowing PS3 users to install game data to their hard drive, which should dramatically reduce the lengthy load times in the game. The installation of game data will be optional, so those of you running out of space on your console can continue to play the game as is.

UK PlayStation Video Store Update for Jan 25th 2010
This week on the UK PlayStation Video Store very few new titles have been added. Only two new movies are available to rent: Funny People and Band Slam; and six new movies are available to buy, including Sorority Row and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.
God of War III Release Date Revealed
Sony Europe has revealed the launch date for the forthcoming highly-anticipated releases of both God of War III and the God of War III: Ultimate Trilogy Edition in Europe. While a March release has been on the cards for some time, Sony has confirmed that the latest iteration to the God of War series will be available from March 19th, 2010. In North America, the title will be available from March 16th 2010.
New Evidence for PlayStation Arc Motion Controller
This week the recent rumors regarding the name for the Sony motion controller have gained more credibility with the registration of the PlayStationArc.com domain name. A whois search on the domain indicated that the domain is owned by Sony Computer Entertainment, confirming that the Motion Controller will indeed be called “Arc”.
Final Fantasy XIII Limited Collector’s Edition Revealed
Square Enix has revealed that the Limited Collector’s Edition of Final Fantasy XIII will be available to purchase in Europe from March 9th 2010. Along with the game, this special edition will include some exclusive pieces of content chosen for fans of the series. The Collector’s Edition will include a selection of soundtrack from the game, an artbook and more.
