Square Enix Exploring Possibility of FFVII Remake

A remake of the PSOne classic Final Fantasy VII has been requested ever since a tech demo of the opening sequence of the game was first revealed on the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, Square Enix has repeatedly said that no remake is currently planned. In a interview with Siliconera during the Final Fantasy XIII launch party, Yoichi Wada, President and CEO of Square Enix, revealed that Square Enix are exploring the possibility of a remake.
Happy 3rd Birthday to PS3 in Europe

Today marks the PlayStation 3’s third birthday in Europe. The 60GB PS3 console was released exactly three years ago after suffering production delays. A lot has changed over the past three years, including over 35 firmware updates and lots of exclusive games including Heavy Rain, the multi-award winning Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 and inFamous.
God of War III Tops UK Charts

God of War III has pushed Final Fantasy XIII from the number one spot in the UK all-format charts this week after the title suffered a 80% drop in sales, according to the latest GfK Charts. Final Fantasy XIII has dropped to third place but still holds the record for the fastest selling game in 2010, while Battlefield: Bad Company 2 retains second position. Kratos’ latest adventure outsold God of War II’s launch by a ratio of 2.65 to 1.

In gaming, something forgotten by the time the million dollar visuals are done is the narrative. But to create a game that fundamentally touches you, the story and the way the story is told has to be important. Heavy Rain is a story…an experience, with a game wrapped around it.

Buzz! Quiz World Patch Adds Facebook Publishing

Sony added Facebook functionality to the PS3 in Firmware 3.10, allowing you to publish trophy information and PlayStation Store purchases on your profile. Soon, Buzz! Quiz World will be patched to include in-game publishing – the first PS3 title to do so. The game will be patched on March 22nd and will work with the existing Facebook settings on your PS3.
God of War Collection Announced in Europe

Now that God of War III is out, Sony has announced the God of War Collection and Trilogy Edition across the PAL Territories. The ‘God of War Collection’ will be available for €39.99 / £24.99 (RRP) and will be available from April 28th 2010. If you haven’t got God of War III yet, you can get the complete trilogy boxset for €89.99 / £64.99.
Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City Trophies

54% of Final Fantasy XIII Sales are for PS3 in UK

Final Fantasy XIII has taken the UK by storm. Not only has the title topped the all-format video game chart, it has also become the fastest selling game this year, overtaking Battlefield: Bad Company 2. As for sales between the PS3 and Xbox 360, the PS3 has gained more sales but only slightly. Although specific numbers are not availabe, the PS3 accounts for 54% of the six-figure sales in the first week.
