The PlayStation Network in Europe was experiencing issues last week, preventing users from adding money to their PlayStation Wallet among other issues. BioShock 2 Rapture Metro DLC Available Today
The Rapture Metro downloadable content pack and the “Kill ’em Kindly” downloadable mode for BioShock 2 hits the US PlayStation Store later today. Both of the DLC packs are multiplayer-focused. The Rapture Metro Pack contains a rank increase to 50 and, when you reach it, you’ll win the opportunity to begin anew with Rebirth mode. This resets you to Rank 1 with a Golden Bunny Mask, and a prestigious indicator next to your name to taunt lesser organisms.
New Sony VAIO P Gets PS3 Remote Play
Firmware 3.30 added new Remote Play functionality that could be used from Sony VIAO PCs allowing you to remotely access your PS3. Sony has officially announced the first laptop to make use of this new functionality, the new Vaio P (P11S1E) ultraportable. Now, not only can you connect to your PS3 using a PSP, you can also use a PC.
Split/Second Demo Available Tomorrow
The Split/Second demo hits the PlayStation Store tomorrow as part of the weekly US PlayStation Store update. In Split/Second, you build up your power meter through skilled driving techniques and then trigger something call “Power Plays” to take out opponents and alter the track. All this takes place in the premise of a huge global broadcast event where you play as a contestant trying to win the season championship.
LittleBigPlanet 2 Officially Announced for Winter 2010
Sony have officially announced that Sackboy will be returning to your PS3s in LittleBigPlanet 2. Sony also released the first trailer to LBP2, which you can find below. LittleBigPlanet established the Play, Create, Share creative gaming genre and has enjoyed tremendous success, with well over 2 million levels created since launch and growing by the week.
FirstPlay Heading To Ireland
According to a comment from the official FirstPlay PSN account, the downloadable magazine will be making its way to Ireland from Issue 7 onwards, after being exclusively available in the UK since early April. The first episode of FirstPlay will be available to purchase in Ireland on May 19th 2010 for approximately €1.19, though official pricing has yet to be revealed.
Lost Planet 2 Requires Mandatory Install
Lost Planet 2 will be available to purchase tomorrow when it hits stores in the US and Europe. Unfortunately, PS3 owners will have to perform a mandatory install of game data before you can play the game, so be sure to have enough free space available. Hopefully, this will mean better loading times compared to the Xbox 360 version.
LittleBigPlanet 2 Screenshots and Details
Yesterday, details about LittleBigPlanet 2 were revealed by the latest issue of Game Informer. Today, we have some official screens and more details on the game. As we’ve already mentioned, LBP2 will only allow you to create levels but you will also be able to create entire games. Furthermore, all the levels created in LBP will be compatible with the new title.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Patch Coming This Week
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be getting patched this week with a number of bug fixes and enhancements to the game. The changes with were announced as part of the PC update last month will be available to download on May 11th for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. New Modern Warfare 2 DLC in Development
Activision has confirmed that a second downloadable pack for Modern Warfare 2 will be coming later this year. The second Map Pack is currently in development by the game’s developer Infinity Ward. Chief Operating Officer for Activision, Thomas Tippl, announced the development of the new DLC, but no specific details were given.
