The US PlayStation Store has received a massive update this week with four new downloadable games, four new playable demos, Final Fantasy IX PSone classic and three new game bundles. You can also find a variety of new game add-on content, new PSN avatars, XMB themes and game videos.
E3 2010: Killzone 3 Boxart Revealed
Killzone 3 may not be due for release until February 2011, but Sony has released the boxart for the title already (see below). The game will be both PlayStation Move and full stereoscopic 3D gameplay. The boxart itself is much lighter that the first two games but still features a Helghast character on the cover.
PS3 Firmware 3.40 Coming June 22nd 2010
The PlayStation 3 will be getting a new Firmware update on June 22nd, bringing the System Software to version v3.40. The new firmware update will activate Automatic Downloads for PlayStation Plus subscribers and set the system up for other PlayStation Plus functionality.
E3 2010: PlayStation Move Out September 2010
Sony has announced that the PS3 motion controller, the PlayStation Move, will be heading to stores in September. Sony made the announcement at their E3 2010 Press Conference a few hour ago. The pricing structure of the new controller was also revealed along with the bundle options.
E3 2010: inFamous 2 Trailer
At Sony’s E3 2010 Press Conference, the first trailer for inFamous 2 was shown off to the public. In inFAMOUS 2, Cole starts out as a full on superhero and only gets more and more powerful. It’s more visceral, brutal and personal experience that commands you attention, making you feel the part of the superhero in every decision you make… be it for good or evil. E3 2010: Gran Turismo 5 Finally Dated
After much delay, Sony has finally revealed the new release date of Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5. During Sony’s E3 2010 Press Conference, new footage was shown and Sony confirmed that the game will be fully playable in 3D. The release date has been confirmed for November 2010.
E3 2010: EA Announced Limited Edition Medal of Honor for PS3
In 2002, EA introduced the world to Medal of Honor Frontline, a groundbreaking game and massive hit. The game starred a courageous young soldier, Lt. Jimmy Patterson, who fought arm-in-arm with his brothers on the German frontline during WWII. Today, Electronic Arts Inc. announced a special edition of Medal of Honor exclusive for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system that will include the classic, Medal of Honor Frontline.
E3 2010: EA Announces Excusive Dead Space 2 Limited Edition for PS3
At Sony’s E3 2010 Press Conference, Visceral Games, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. has announced that an exclusive Limited Edition of Dead Space 2 will be released on the PlayStation 3. The Limited Edition will include the award-winning Dead Space Extraction, the prequel to the entire Dead Space saga, now featuring support for the PlayStation Move motion controller.
E3 2010: PlayStation Plus Officially Announced
At Sony’s E3 Press Conference, Jack Tretton officially announced PlayStation Plus, the premium subscription service for the PlayStation Network. The service will build on top of the existing free service, offering gamers exclusive content, early access to demos, automatic download of demos and game related content and more.
FirstPlay Episode 11 Details
Episode 11 of FirstPlay hits the PlayStation Store tomorrow. The best new about the new episode is subscribers will be able to download a exclusive Backbreaker demo, the new American Football title from NaturalMotion. The demo will be available exclusively with FirstPlay for a limited time. The episode also features HD reviews of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and International Cricket 2010.
