Starting November 1st 2011, PlayStation Plus subscribers in North America can look forward to free access to Hydrophobia Prophecy. Subscribers can also download Classic PSOne titles Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, and 3, along with CTR: Crash Team Racing available through November.
Over 10 million units of DICE-developed military shooter Battlefield 3 have now been shipped worldwide, EA has announced. In comparison, the game’s predecessor Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has shipped 11m units in total since its release in March 2011. The actual sales figures have yet to be revealed, but EA Boss John Riccitiello tell investors that “sell through is strong.”
A list has surfaced that shows which PlayStation Vita games will require an additional memory card, and which ones won’t. It’s worth noting that the games won’t give you the option: those that save to their own dedicated space on the game card will always do so.
Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has confirmed the date on which DC Universe Online becomes free-to-play, as originally announced last month. Originally pencilled in for this month, DC Universe Online will be switching to the free-to-play model as of November 1st.
According to reports that originate with Famitsu magazine in Japan, the PlayStation Vita might ship with a few features missing. The Japanese magazine revealed the PlayStation Vita’s browser specification, stating it runs Javascript 1.7 and HTML5 but no Flash support.
If you were paying close attention to Jack Tretton (head of SCEA) when he took the stage at E3 this year, you may remember him talking about the inclusion of DICE’s classic shooter, Battlefield 1943 on every Blu-Ray copy of Battlefield 3. However, this doesn’t seem to be the actual case. Players that picked up Battlefield 3 over the past week have noticed that Battlefield 1943 doesn’t seem to be on their disc.
