Two new Maps for Modern Warfare 3 are now available to Call of Duty Elite premium members via the PlayStation Network. The first new map is Piazza, based in Italy with several sharp corners, tight corridors, and dangerous staircases. The other is Liberation, set in Manhattan’s Central Park, and features winding paths, underground tunnels, and exposed Domination points.
The launch of the PlayStation Vita in North American and Europe last week has helped push sales parts the 1.2 million mark. Sony Computer Entertainment Inc, today announced that the sales of the PS Vita reached over 1.2 million units worldwide as of February 26, 2012. Software sales across the globe have surpassed 2.0 million units at both retail and on PlayStation Network.
Just a quick reminder that the PlayStation Network will be undergoing maintenance on Thursday, 1st March. Maintenance is expected to start at just after 16:00 GMT and will last for several hours, until approximately 06:00 GMT onFriday, 2 March. Unlike typical maintenance events, consumers who are already signed in to PSN will be signed out, and consumers will be unable to sign in for the duration of the maintenance window.
South Park has been going fifteen years, and to celebrate the show’s sixteenth series, PlayStation are offering the first episode of the latest run completely free to download. South Park Season 12, Episode 1 can be downloaded for free from the store, and weighs in at 361 MB.
According to the latest PlayStation Blogcast, Guerrilla’s first person shooter, Killzone 3, will see its multiplayer portion appear free of charge on the PlayStation Network Store. The free version will be a slightly limited version of the full multiplayer experience, with the only limit bring a level cap.
Another PSN maintenance window has been scheduled for March 1st 2012, between 4pm and 7am the following day. As usual, your SEN Account, the PlayStation Store and associated services will be offline during this time. However, unlike normal, users who sign-in before the maintenance window will not be able to stay online.
Starhawk is finally entering the Public Beta phase today. If you haven’t already done so, you can download the Starhawk Multipler Beta from the PlayStation Store today. Over the next coming weeks, the beta will be getting lots of updates including a new map, new vehicles, new weapons, 32 player max matches and more.
A new trailer for Borderlands 2 has been released! The trailer features the four new playable characters and a glimpse of the colourful new environments and areas you’ve been playing in. In addition, the trailer also revealed the release date for the game: September 21st 2012. Check it out below.
