Sony has unveiled the new smaller and lighter PS3 model, known as CECH-4000, at Tokyo Games Show earlier today. The new model will come with two different configurations and will be launching in September and October, respectively. The new model is 20% smaller, and weighs 25% less than the current Slim model.
Need For Speed Most Wanted: Single Player Trailer Released
EA have released a brand new trailer for upcoming Need For Speed title Most Wanted. This time, the trailer shows more of the single-player mode in the game, with footage of the Speedwall feature.
Goldfinger Missions Confirmed for 007 Legends
Activision has confirmed that the fifth James Bond film to be included in upcoming title 007 Legends will be Goldfinger. The game will feature a series of levels based on one film from each Bond actor, with the others announced being; Die Another Day (Brosnan), Moonraker (Moore), Licence to Kill (Dalton) and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (Lazenby).
WipEout for PS4 Still Alive
Despite Sony closing down Liverpoool Studio a few weeks ago, we’re happy to reveal that WipEout for the PlayStation 4 is still alive. Yesterday, the official WipEout 2048 Twitter feed tweeted ‘WE. ARE. ALIVE’ and the picture below. The game was previously thought to have been cancelled after the studio was disbanded.
NiGHTS into Dreams Coming to PSN in October
SEGA has revealed the release date for Saturn classic NiGHTS into Dreams, which has been remade into a HD title. The game will be releasing in early October and will come with Christmas NiGHTS, an additional, seasonal themed adventure which was originally given away by magazines and on special promotions.
Polish Retailer Teasing New 12GB PS3
According to a Polish retailer, a PS3 will be coming to Europe on September 28th, just a few days after TGS 2012 ends in Tokyo, Japan. According to Polish site Polygamia.pl there will be a 12GB SSD PS3 which will retail for €199 and it will be joined by a bigger 500GB PS3 model which will cost €299.
Hulu Plus App on PS3 Gets Updated
The Hulu Plus app on the PS3 has received a major update, bringing many improvements and new features to users. The app has been updated to help you get to the shows you watch faster than ever before, with larger, more vivid artwork and easier navigation. A new “Shows You Watch” feature that highlights the content you regularly enjoy, and lets you jump straight to the latest episode.
Cross-Game Chat Coming Soon?
Sony has (perhaps accidentally) that reignited the possibility of cross-game chat as a feature for PlayStation Plus subscribers, even though the company said it is technically not possible in the past. The information comes from PSN user Andrefpvs, who spotted Cross Game Chat as one of the benefits of PlayStation Plus when he purchased a PlayStation Plus subscription at the current discounted price.
FIFA 13 Demo Downloaded Nearly Two Million Times in 3 Days
The FIFA 13 demo has been downloaded a massive 1.99 million times in just three days of being released to the public. Further more, 29 per cent more people played the FIFA 13 demo on their PS3, Xbox 360 and PC compared to the FIFA 12 demo, in the same time frame.
Hell Yeah! Wrath Of The Dead Rabbit Is October’s PlayStation Plus Game of the Month
SEGA’s Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is coming to the PlayStation Network next month, and PlayStation Plus member will be able to download the title for free as part of the Instant Game Collection. The game will be October’s “Game of the Month”, and will be available to download on October 3rd.
