A new firmware update for the PS5 has been released, updating the system software to v21.02-04.02.00. This is a minor update for the PS5, and according to the one-line release note, it improves system performance. The update is currently optional, which means it isn’t required to access the PlayStation Network, although it may be required by newer games.
