Rockstar have revealed the first of GTA V’s Social Club features for the online component of the game: Crew Hierarchies; which allows Crew Leaders to manage crew members and assign special ranks to players. The feature is already available online, ahead of GTA Online’s launch in October. By default, all players are classed as ‘muscle’ until reassigned.
Borderlands 2 ‘Game of the Year’ Edition Detailed
Gearbox Software and 2K have announced that Borderland 2 is to receive a ‘Game of the Year’ edition, featuring the full game and all the DLC released for the game to date as a complete package. The GOTY edition will be released in North America on October 8th 2013, and in Europe on October 11tu 2013.
The Last of Us Patched to v1.03, Adds “Interrogation” Multiplayer Mode
The Last of Us has received a massive new patch, updating the game to version v1.03 and adds a number of multiplayer fixes as well as an all-new multiplayer game mode: Interrogation. The patch is rolling out across all regions over the next 24 hours so don’t panic if you haven’t recieved the update yet.
EU PlayStation Store Update for August 28th 2013
Many new PS3 games are available on the European PlayStation Store this week, including Rayman Legends, Persona 4 Arena and more. New PlayStation Plus content is available too, with five new games added to the Instant Game Collection, including Assassin’s Creed III and New Little King’s Story.
Square-Enix Halt Sales of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PlayStation Store
Square Enix has chosen to temporarily halt sales of the digital download version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as they work to enhance their online server capabilities. The game has proved to be highly popular and was met by an “overwhelming positive response” from users, causing game-wide server issues.
PS4 Will Automatically Wake Up for Remote Downloads
Sony’s President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has confirmed via twitter that purchasing a game remotely for the PS4 will automatically wake up the console to download the game, and then turn off when completed. Currently, the PS3 needs to be scheduled to wake up at a certain time in order to automatically download queued content.
inFamous: Second Son Developer Diary Shows DualShock 4 Integration
A new developer diary for upcoming PS4 title, inFamous: Second Son, was released, titled “Taking Control”, and shows how the new DualShock 4 controller is used in the game to introduce new gameplay controls and mechanics. The behind-the-scenes look at the game shows how the touch pad can be used to trigger certain powers.
US PlayStation Store Update for August 27th 2013
New content is available on the North American PlayStation Store, including a number of new PS3 and PS Vita games. New PS3 games include MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and Killer is Dead among others. New PS Vita games include the Killzone Mercenary Public Beta and cross-buy title Spelunky.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Gamescom Trailer
We’ve got a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag that was released at Gamescom, showing more gameplay footage of the upcoming game. The game got some decent stage time at Sony’s Press Conference with live gameplay and PS Vita Remote Play demo of the game in action.
Sony UK Accidentally Leaks GTA V for PS4
Sony UK have revealed via twitter that “GTA V will be amazing, especially on the PS4!”, and inadvertently leaking the fact that the game is coming to the next-gen console. The tweet was in response to a user wishing the game was coming to the PS4. The tweet could be a simple misunderstanding or an actual leak from Sony, as the game hasn’t been announced for the PS4.
