New content has been added to the European PlayStation Store, with the stand-alone version of Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry now available on the PS4 and PS3, as well as the PS4 beta for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. New DLC and a number of PS3 and PS Vita games are available too.
Thief will be 1080p at 30fps on PS4
The PS4 continues to prove how powerful it is with upcoming game, Thief, confirmed to run natively at 1080p resolution. In comparison, the game will run at 900p on the Xbox One, with both version running at 30 frames per second (fps). Nicolas Cantin, Game Director, said, “You really need good eyes to see the difference,” meaning that the Xbox One version is effectively “as good as the PS4 version”.
US PlayStation Store Update for February 18th 2014
New content is available on the US PlayStation Store, with a number of new PS4, PS3 and PS Vita games added. New games include Rayman Legends (PS4) and Strider (PS4, PS3), Earth Defense Force 2025 (PS3) and more. The Final Fantasy XIV beta is also available for the PS4, along with new PlayStation Plus content.
GTA Online Has Made $66 Million Through Micro-Transactions
Grand Theft Auto Online has been a massive success for Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive, as the latest financial reports reveal that the game made up almost half of the Take-Two’s digital revenue for the last fiscal quarter, which ended on December 31st 2014.

Sony and Ready At Dawn has released a CG trailer with voiceover for upcoming game PS4 exclusive, The Order: 1886, set in neo Victorian London. The game presents an alternate version of history centred around an age old war, where mystery and technological advances take centre stage.
PS4 System Software Ver. 1.61
A new minor firmware update for the PS4 is now available, updating the console to v1.61. The firmware is mandatory, which means it must be installed before you can access the PlayStation Network. The update, which is 336 MB in size, improves system stability.
Sony Sells 5.3 Million PS4 Units Worldwide
Following the NPD figures released earlier this month, Sony has revealed the latest PS4 sales figures. As of February 8th 2014, the PS4 has sold an estimated 5.3 million units around the world – an increase of 1.1 million units since December 28th.
Konami Reveals Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid 5 PS4
Konami has revealed a Limited Edition PS4 console with Metal Gear Solid 5 branding, dubbed the “Fox Edition”. The console will come with Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, and will be available to purchase on March 20th 2014 in Japan for ¥46,980. The Limited Edition console itself features nothing more than a Foxhoud decal.
Lego Movie Videogame Tops UK Games Chart
FIFA 14 has dropped three places to take 4th position, while newcomers The Lego Movie Videogame tops the UK chart, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII debuting in 3rd position. The chart in general has had quite a reshuffle, with Killzone: Shadow Fall also dropping to 13th place, and Battlefield 4 also dropping to 7th.
Metal Gear Solid V Runs at 1080p at 60fps on PS4
Konami has revealed the graphical differences of Metal Gear Solid V between the different PlayStation and Xbox consoles it will be available on. The PS4 version will be the only console to support full 1080p resolution at 60fps, while the Xbox One will run at 720p resolution with 60 fps. Both the previous-gen consoles will run at 720p at 30fps with internal scaling.
