It has emerged that Sony has become the global number one console manufacturer, beating previous global leader Nintendo, who has led the race for the past seven years. According to Nikkei reports, the combined sales of Playstation hardware reached an impressive 18.7 million units for the year ending March 2014.
SCEA has released the PlayStation Store chart for May, revealing the top selling titles across all three consoles. On the PS4, Watch_Dogs was the best selling title, having been released towards then of the month. On the PS3, Minecraft is still going strong, dominating the chart yet again.
The PS4 is getting a new free-to-play shooter called Loadout, developed by Edge of Reality (The Sims 3, Mass Effect Trilogy). Loadout is a game that lets you concoct the weapon of your dreams and/or nightmares from hundreds of component parts, and share their payloads with your friends in fast-paced matches, with violently comedic results.
Square Enix has today announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will launch on December 2nd 2014 in North America, and December 5th 2014 in Europe, exclusively on the PS3. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is a HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix and the cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.
SHAREfactory will be getting an update soon, updating the application to v1.01. The update will include two new themes: Soccer and Shooter; as well as two additional music tracks. The update will also include new Wipe transitions, and several bug fixes to improve the application.
EA has announced that Battlefield: Hardline will releasing on 21st October on the PS3, PS3 and PC and other consoles. In addition to announcing a release date, a new trailer for the cops-and-robbers shooter has been released too, confirming the release date. Check out the new trailer below.
Lots of new content is available on the European PlayStation Store, including new PlayStation Plus content for June. New games this week include Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Ultra Street Fighter IV and Playstation Vita Pets. You can also find plenty of new DLC and other content.

Sony has discounted a number of games on the PlayStation Store this week in the run up to E3. A number of PS4 games are included in the sale, with games like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Battlefield 4 reduced by a measly £10, but LEGO Marvel Super Heroes has been reduced to under £30.
